...i smell a company struggling with subscriptions....great news for the consumer  .....be next to nothing soon as they scrabble to get their viewing fids up for their advertisers :w00t:
#2
so you can cancel after the 3 months?
#3
Wouldn't touch em with a flippin barge pole, tin pot company, tin pot coverage :-(
#4
the premiership matches i've watched on it have always been ok, nothing wrong with the coverage
#5
Should be a fiver a month max anyway

yeah true, that's why i've never got it, £10 a month is too much, i just go to my mates to watch it .
#7
It used to be £20 per month LOL
I used to subscribe but I figured it a mugs game. A fiver a month ain't bad though.
#8
I got the Ricky Hatton fight for £15, and 2 months free, plus £10 Quidco and then cancelled.

As long as you can cancel after the 3 moths, then I will probably get this as well!

The coverage is every bit as good as sky....Ian Crocker is also the best commentator in the UK.

was it easy enough to cancel because i know sky is a nightmare to try and cancel
#11
not on Quidco anymore?
#12
Just had a look and they are no longer on Quidco

Am thinking of going for this deal as you just have to give them 30 days notice when you want to cancel
#13
Just triyng to subscribe to this and you get 2 options:

Setanta Sports Pack Monthly Old Firm + one off GBP 10.00 connection fee
or
Setanta Sports Pack Monthly Old Firm No connection fee

why would anyone opt for the £10 connection fee or do you have to being a new subscriber?

J....you just have to give them 30 days notice when you want to cancel
May be worth some research via Google as there are many anecdotal accounts of it appearing easier to leave the Earth's atmosphere that it is to leave Sultana.
#15
Best subscribing by direct debit then you can just cancel the direct debit when you want to leave them
#16
If you are a talk talk phone account they are currently doing a free freeview box with a slot and two free months subscription. You can cancel at anytime.

This doesn't seem too bad a deal atleast they are trying to stop skys monopoly on football, Sky prices are only going to be higher if others struggle.
#18
£10 connection fee for new users and you have to cancel 30 days in advance.

Also if you have sky multiroom its an extra £5 per box.
#19
It took about 20 minutes on the phone to cancel.

Winchy - because I have already been a past customer, would I have to pay the £10 connection fee??
#20
I believe you do NatD.

That's how Setanta con people out of money. Every time you resubscribe you pay a £10 connection fee, that fee is there to make you think twice about cancelling and reconnecting.

If you think about it though, if you really want Setanta back, say for instance you want to watch the premiership or american sports, paying the £10 connection + £5 for 3 months is still a saving of £5 to 3 months full price. Not a huge difference though.
#21
Yeah - but chances are I would cancel again in 3 months time!

Hmmmm - gonna have to give this some thought again now lol!
#22
I'm unfortunatly I subscribed last month so missed the offer so i'm not going to unsubscribe because I don't want to get into paying the connection fee.

The thing that annoyed me was that for every other multiroom box you want it on you have to pay a fiver, despite multiroom being a £10 a month extra thing anyway, so for setanta and multiroom its £15 a month!
#23
I am going to sunscribe as I want to watch the Enzo Maccarenelli and the Calzaghe/Kessler fights in Novemeber which are on Setanta.

;)

The splitting of rights was forced, rather than Setanta doing consumers a favour.
Also, ignoring the TV licence fee, instead of paying one company to get all matches, you now have to pay 2. It's not as if Sky put their prices down to compensate...

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP

1 question if i get setanta on sky does the viewing card need to be under my name to order setanta?

true, but premiership plus has gone so you could argue that they have. however 12 months of setanta costs more than a PP season ticket.

Don;t you just love the way us consumers are looked after?

And this is the main reason why I refuse to pay £10 a month, for something that last year cost me £5 a month! I appreciate that there are other Sports included, but they don't really appeal to me!
#28
aaaahhhhh how do you subscribe in the UK???? All it has is US or Canada??
banned#29
It would be awesome if we can suscribe North american setanta
#30
Peeps - just to let you know, I have just signed up and because I was a previous subscriber, and as someone mentioned earlier, I could reconnect with no connection fee!

So 3 months of Setanta for £15! Happy Days.

Will just have to make a note to cancel on the 19th December!!!!!!!

#33

#34
Bollox - is it? I thought Hatton had signed up with Setanta for at least a year????

I bloody hate Setanta.
No offense to our Scottish cousins, but I couldn't care less what happens there, or France, or outer mongolia - so the splitting of the rights was nothing but bad for me, and loads of people I know.
£49 for Prem Plus for the year and the Sky Sports package meant you got to watch every single televised game of football in a season, and meant you always got your team on Football First every week. Now, you haven't got a clue what you can watch and what you can't. It's been disgraceful the way it was handled, how they blagged it on the competitive front when it costs more now than last year I don't know.

Anyway, voting this cold simply because it's a tenner to sign up, and £25 for 3 months is STILL more than I'd have been paying with Prem Plus.
#37
Can't find out who is showing the Hatton fight, but you do get the Calzaghe fight at least!

So you would rather watch derby v sunderland

Than Celtic V Rangers? The prem is over rated any time the old firm get a hold of you your team gets pumped Celtic V Man Utd Last year Celtic V Liverpool 4 years ago same story Celtic V Blackburn and before that Rangers V Leeds.. The league is just as competitive in that each season only 2 teams can win the league..
#39
Scottish Premier is far far weaker than the Premiership and i'm suprised you're even arguing it, the reason the Scots fair so well against English teams is they're the underdogs and the underdogs have that advantage from the start of the game.

Ask anyone in the world, name 10 premiership players, name 10 scots premiership players, you know the majority would struggle to name 10 scots.

Like if you were asked who are the top 30 teams in the World today, no one will mention the likes of Celtic or Rangers ;)

Anyway, Hatton fight is supposedly on Setanta, but they'll probably find a way to charge extra for it!!!
#40
Hatton is on SKY BOX OFFICE. Setanta is OK for a fiver a month - I've just signed up, no connection fee, easy.
