9 great sports channels on £15 per month inc setanta 1 which covers 46 live Barclays premiership games.

79 Games from the nationwide conference.

no 12 month contract and currently its buy 1 month get 2 months free. promotion ends 24th june.

This is great for people that have freeview (also available for sky and cable customers)like me as i only want the football and not any of their packs.

Well worth taking a look at the site as i have only mentioned the football and not the other sports channels that are included eg Golf, Rugby etc etc.

I got the fighting and 2 free months (+ £10 Quidco cashback) from Setanta yesterday.

However I have voted this cold because I don't think its a great freaking deal seeing though I was able to get the same amount of Premiership games from Sky last season on Prem+ for £50!!!!!!!

yep should have looked into this in more detail, just seemed a really great deal when i saw the advert and i impulse posted. I hope that it is of use to someone., even if it is from the useful comments/replies to the post.

damn forgot about the fight

setanta is a bit pricey considering most people paid for sky sports + prem plus last year at £50 or £60 now at £15 a month its working out £120 more per season just to get the same amount of football.......

Ofcom and the FA should have considered that when they gave the licenses out as im sure less people overall will watch now.......

can someone tell me exactly what channels they should have access to? I have setanta sports 1 and 2, do you not get a racing channel and the american channel?

It's not the same amount of football though.

You get the SPL, Serie A, the Bundesliga, Eredivisie and the Portuguese league.

Now it's own coverage (i.e. of the SPL) is pretty poor, but you can't argue about the quantity of football you get.

But I don't want to watch that lot of Football TBH - and I personally think they have shot themselves in the Foot by not offering tiered packages!!!

Personally, I really hope that Setanta go the same way as On Digital, but it appears that are probably now too big for that to happen, so I will just have to stick with MOTD and Sky Sports interactive match highlights coveragel!!!!!!

You should get Setanta Sports 1, Setanta Sports 2, Setanta Golf, Racing UK, Racing World, NASN, Celtic TV and Rangers TV.

Oh, and Sky have scrapped Prem+. All their Premiership matches will be on the regular Sky Sports channels.

Yeah i only have setanta1 and 2 :? time to give them a call!

Fair enough, but the criticism I was answering was that it was double the price for the same amount of football. It's not.

Most Scottish fans (except Celtic fans) have been hoping Setanta went out of business for 2 years now. Sadly it doesn't look like happening and so our league is viewable by a pathetically small potential audience and so the less committed fans of Scottish football have drifted away.

Hopefully they will realise that no-one is going to pay £15 on top of their Sky Sports sub for what is the 4th choice of Premiership match each weekend.

I repeat, the Setanta subscription is for more than just the "4th choice of Premiership match each weekend".

I just rang them and they said due to the high amount of people subscribing yesterday and last night for the fight you may not have got all the channels at once, and theyre now sorting it out for me

will i get the football on my freeview box?

thanks Adey

True but the quality of there shows are appalling, do they even show football in Widescreen yet ?

I will stick with my SkyHD till somone else can offer as good a service as Sky, yes you pay for it but i feel its worth every penny just for the Football on Sky Sports.

The quality of their own shows is extremely poor, as I said earlier. Yes, the games are in widescreen however, albeit with more compressed picture that Sky's own.

Personally I agree Sky is worth every penny for the football (and even just La Liga IMO), but as an exiled Scot not having Setanta as well just isn't an option for me. Up until now the subscription has only been made value for money by being able to enjoy the Dutch, French and German leagues. The same logic will apply to those who spend the £15 a month to get their Premiership games.

To be honest it's fairly symptomatic of the British insularity(particularly the English) that there are a few here presuming that other than the 4th choice Premiership game each weekend, there will be nothing else worth watching. I can assure you you'll see as many thoroughly enjoyable games not involving your own team in the Bundesliga or Ligue 1 than you will in the Premiership.

First time I have ever watched Setanta was last night for the Hatton fight, and was seriously annoyed to have the dreaded 2 black vertical bars down each side of the screen - Damn, it was just like watching Champions League on ITV4!!!!!!!!

For £15 per month (treble what I paid last season and yes I know I get lots more sport that I won't watch lol!) you would expect a better quality of service!

Some valid points, and TBH I do enjoy watching La Liga and The Championship. Bundesliga does appeal to meet, but most of the other Football, Rugby, Gaelic Sports, etc. would not have me watching I am afraid!

I think its how the americans broadcast the fight, not setanta. They just buy the rights to show it

So far, I'm really liking Nascar.
