I would say, HP laptops and PCs are usually shipped with loads of bloat-ware when first booted up. So it may be a jibbering wreck despite the nice spec.

You may need to run something like this - http://www.yorkspace.com/pc-de-crapifier/ this removes some of that rubbish they insist on installing (McAffee trials etc).

Be warned the DV6000 series laptops (and some others i believe) have serious overheating issues. Mines been back twice in 14 months with motherboard failures, so big is the problem that they have given me a lifetime warranty for the life of my ownership!

O and my webcam doesnt work anymore, its a chip problem i believe which also affects the range. They stop working a few days after installation of the operating system.

I've a DV6599ea, not had any problems with it what so ever. It's on about 16 hours a day also, and no overheating.

Great spec laptop @ a great price! Voted HOT.

ps. this is also compatible with the XB3000 docking station from PC world @ £19.99

Mine is an AMD so it's possibly motherboard specific. Iam led to believe upon research that it's a case/air flow problem though.
