Such an awesome film!!

Description:
Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook. Ultra Limited Print Run. Limited to 2000 Copies.

Get ready to kick some grass!

Sing (Chow) is a skilled Shaolin kung fu devotee whose amazing "leg of steel" catches the eye of a crippled former soccer star turned coach! Together they assemble a squad of Sing's former Shaolin brothers (now disgruntled in a comical variety of unsatisfactory occupations!) inspired by the big-money prize in a national soccer competition and Sing's wish to repay the kindness of local 'beauty' Mui (Zhao Wei). Using an unlikely mix of martial arts and newfound soccer skills, it seems an unbeatable combination...until the band of misfits must face the dreaded Team Evil in the ultimate battle for the title!

With tons of action, eye-popping special effects and nonstop laughs, here's a hilarious martial arts comedy that's also the craziest football film ever!

it was in the flash sale but seems like the sale either ended or they sold enough at 6.99 so put the price back up for the remaining copies

Was slightly disappointed with this after I finally got around to watching it. Nowhere near as great as Kung Fu Hustle

i do prefer kung fu hustle. ive only watched the dubbed version of shaolin soccer. i just had the blu-ray but with replacing it with the steelbook i was looking at the back and noticed that the subtitled version of this film is like 20 minutes longer. so ill watch it again for that

Like anything in life most of what makes it funny in the first place is lost in the translation or (most likely) badly translated in the first place ! Excellent movie if you can watch and understand it in Cantonese

This established the style which Chow Sing Chi honed much further in Kung Fu Hustle. So, no surprises that you found Kung Fu Hustle better.

I still cringe at this film though despite the large majority of my friends constantly replaying the drunken singing scene regularly - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0DGvblpXgE

Another classic comedy scene in Shaolin Soccer (good lord, my wife is now singing along... oO)

Hope this film (and Kung Fu Hustle) does get people to check out his previous non-Western release films like All For The Winner, his Fight Back To School series, and King of Comedy.

This deal is back up so can someone un-expire it. For all the people, it's back in stock and at £6.99

Can anyone confirm whats on the disk?
I have read its just the western edit, then that it is the western and the cantonese edit which is much longer.
I have a cantonese dvd which included deleted scenes and other features, does the blu have this?
I'd like to have all the existing extras if possible

The bluray contains both cuts/versions, the shorter English dubbed western edit, and the longer original Cantonese version, but unfortunately it's the short dubbed version which has better video quality, proper HD looking, whereas the longer version with original audio looks like upscaled SD quality.
