Finally these guys are coming up North - hurrah :D
#4
Hmm no reviews on this tv need to pick up a new tv for my sis but I my current Sharp has a horrible grey line down the middle of the screen that is apparently a known fault. Not sure I want to go for another Sharp.
#5
By the way was this a leaflet, are there any more offers?
#6
...anything else on offer..looked on the Aintree blog but nothing mentioned
#7
Same site as Curry mega store...nice bit of competition should be forthcoming....

This was posted on best buys twittertwitter

No reviews, but still may get one at this price.
#10
Anyone know when the Croydon store is opening? The only information I can find is 'in the Autumn'.
#11
Picked up my parents an LG 42" plasma from the Aintree store on sunday for £300 as they had a friends and family day. Only downside I could see is that it's only 720p but not that my parents will notice anyway
#12
It's a brand name but I was hoping for full HD at that price for the opening offer. Maybe I was being unrealistic.
#13
North? Liverpool?

really?

Can't find any specs on this tv so have no idea on it's HD spec. Itching to see what other offers they have lined up.

Well it isn't in the south or the midlands so yeah.

If you check the picture it says "HD Ready" across the TV. That means it'll be 720p.

Most likely better value than the poor quality Full HD TV they had in Morrisons for the same price, but I was hoping for something special from these opening offers.

Northwest, in fact

You see that bit at the top??? That's scotland that is
#18
no thats Cumbria, BEFORE Scotland, making that the north west.

Scousers are not northerners.

but I'm just a Geordie scumbag so what do I know......

LOL
well I m originally from Liverpool and therefore a northerner.
As Liverpool is in the North West of England, (as is Cumbria) then I am also from the North West.

As far as I know its always been this way, as has the answer to the ultimate question.

nah the answer is 37.....if you're a fan of the Clerks movie, you'll get that.
#21
It's a north south divide. It's not often you hear folk from east and west slagging each other. I think...

I'm a mancunian or salfordian to be more to the point, so us manga and scousers don't need that much of a divide to slate each other. Heheh!

Top deal by the way. Nearly forgot about the telly!?!

End of October by all accounts.
#23
I just can't decide if it is worth the battle to get something at the Liverpool opening. Think I would need to be getting a few things at about half price to take it on having seen first hand the madness round here for a crumby Next sale

No, you don't need to join. It's just a normal store where you can walk in & buy stuff.
#28
thanks for that :)

For Friday's opening. Yes you do. A mental institution. Or you have travelled down on a £1 National Express coach.

It looks suspiciously like a low end vestel set just bought into their range for a basic entry set. They used to do this with CRT sets buying in low end vestel models. Frankly some of the supermarket models are better than this as they are 1080p and sell for similar money. Don't be surprised if it has Made in Turkey on the back.
#31
i have been reliably informed that this is related to the following review http://www.techradar.com/reviews/audio-visual/televisions/plasma-and-lcd-tvs/sharp-lc-32dh510e-714741/review

seems ok for price

I would be surprised if it had Turkey on the back as the one I bought in May from BestBuy has 'Made in Japan' on the back.

For £199 its decent and you can connect a USB drive and record onto it which is a useful feature. The only drawback is just 2 HDMI sockets so once you have a DVD and Sky Plus connected you need to use component if you want more than SD.

Thats very impressive. If you download pdf manuals from the sharp site you normally find where they claim to be printed is also the country of origin for the whole set and most of these sets are coming out of Spain and Poland. Some of the bottom end sets seem near identical to vestel designs. Even if not assembled in turkey I wouldn't be surprised if they are assembled in poland using a vestel circuit board and psu. However thats certainly not the case if this model is manufactured in Japan. Seems like a bargain for a japanese made set.

Got me sister to pick me 1 up. It's nuts there apparently!
#35
Picked up tv, yesterday, very nice set, playback of avi's on usb, very good. Staff instore are very nice as well, thanks op, heated!
#36
Thought I would mention I just went today (Saturday) really good store. Had loads of decent deals. I bought this TV today at 12:30pm they had hundreds left. You pay for it at the till then you go out to a tent at the back where the TV is held. When I collected mine there must off been more than 300 of these TV's left. So if anyone is planning on getting this tv now is your chance.

I got one on Friday morning.Great store and the staff were very good too! The telly is very good, no complaints at all. USB is works fine.
