Wish they delivered...

be worth a trip. How do you find out what model it is. I cant see the deal anywhere.
#7
They havent specified the model on their Facebook status. Will probably know by the end of the day seeing as they are actively using Facebook to promote this new site,

Renowned for abysmal service in the states so don't expect anything better than currys. Don't get me wrong though I'd buy from Currys if the price was right and I could get out the store without a extended warranty, finance and £80 scart cable. Just don't assume because its new its going to be better than the british electrical stores as it may even be worse.
#9
I can't wait for the aintree branch to arrive. Anything is better than dixons etc.

I believe the gentleman is enquring as to the availability of Nintendo brand gaming controllers from the popular high street band "John Lewis" in noir. If he were able to obtain two of the aforementioned peripherals, I believe his joy would be so forthcoming, he'd do some serious damage to his household cooking utensils.

Rep added that was hilarious mate.

As for the deal, its Hot, depending on the actual tv and the amount they have in stock, not sure if i fancy queing for this or not.

this is so annoying, I live about 1 minute walk from Best Buy store in hedge end, yet I need to go to work at 9am on the Friday:(
i am hoping they still have these deals when I get back at 6pm after work...otherwise i might need to call in sick at work:roll:

Grab whatever bargains they have available while you can as they are unbelievably expensive compared to other high street electrical stores. Went to their Lakeside branch this weekend and their extended warrantees are astronomically high - the Currys superstore accross the road can have my business any day over BB.

Some classic posts

I'd imagine anyone who wants one will be able to get one, they had a crazy amount of stock of the £179 Toshibas last time round.

From what I understand, they have a certain amount ( Toshi's for Thurrock was around 6k in the end ) which they will divide these up over the 4 days ( this Friday through to Bank Holiday Monday )
Therefore, fret not about working on Friday, there should be quite a few left on Saturday.

Where'd you get that model number from? it's LC32DH510E which is £449.99 at dixons.co.uk

hmmm, doesnt seem to be many reviews of this item online.

I like how they are limiting it to one TV per household, at least that will help stop stocks from running out very quickly!

Any confirmation on this, it could change my plans.

I went for the Dsi XL £99 and also ended up getting the TV as well .....it would be rude not to.
They seemed to have lorrys full of the TV's and plenty of this model.
It looked a bit small in the shop, but once i got it set up at home it fitted in well

They are giving out vouchers to take to the till to pay for these. Look for the woman holding a bunch of yellow balloons. When I collected mine today they said they still had 1300 in stock!!!!
#28
There wasn't more than a 5 minute wait to get in this afternoon but the traffic to get out was a lot worse.

Lots of Sharp TV's left and they had plenty of ipads to have a go on. Does anyone know why they would be international IP addresses? I found this out when I tried to access BBC Iplayer and the Ipads won't allow access.

Great opening day! The sun shone / band played to the queue / helpfull car park attendants / lots of staff and plenty of stock! Impressed...

Picked one of these up yesterday at Best Buy. The guy had loads and loads of reserve vouchers so I think they must have similar quantities to the number of Toshibas they had at Thurrock.

Out of the box the picture isn't great (as is usual), I've had a play with the settings and got a decent picture out of it - found most important was switching Noise Reduction off, with it on the picture was smeary. I've not used any professional tools to set up. Be interested to know what settings others have used. For reference I'm currently using:

Backlight 53
Contrast 68
Brightness 46
Colour 38
Sharpness 50
Tint 55
Colour Temp Cool
Aspect Auto
Noise Reduction Off

Stuck Avatar in through PS3 and it looks great.

All in all, £200 for a branded 32" tv is a bargain. I'm pleased with the picture quality.

Im very happy with mine. Was tempted by the Samsung 32" they had on offer but the USB playback functionality on the Sharp won me over. Looking forward to wall mounting it when im back home from Uni :p

went there today...not expecting anything cheap but
pros
toilets in a shop - ask any parent - godsend
very helpful and not pushy staff

cons
prices not cheap - i can get all products cheaper online....even those on offer werent that much cheaper......bought a msoft desktop 3000 for the kids - was lol 59.99 down to 24.99 (but only £5 cheaper than online).....also bought a belkin 7 port usb hub for 13.99 (tiny bit cheaper than online - got it home but DOA - thats the 2nd of 2 products belkin products ive ever bought - both DOA, never again)
much better cust service shopping experience than dixon/comet/currys (not that hard !!) but no cheaper...in fact prob more expensive...so back to online for me

Has anybody got this or anything else delivered from them? They were supposed to deliver to this to me last Friday (4/6) which they didn't. I phoned them up they said it had been delivered to the store (yeah because the store is my 'home'!) Phoned them again yesterday, yes we will investigate and call you back blah blah blah. Still nothing.

I will definitely not be using Best Buy again they are a joke.
