Sharp 40" full array backlit LED TV. Was £499.95, now reduced by an extra £15. I ordered at the higher price and Argos have very kindly refunded the difference. Great TV, good reviews, little issues with judder and tinny sound (you may just have to get yourself a surround system - lol!). Best LED TV this size for under £500?

Signed up to post this deal after using the service for a long time! And also being a newb I dont know how to add image, maybe some nice person could?

Why the cold votes? Maybe people could explain? This is currently the lowest price around to get this TV, (next cheapest is £657 at Electrical Discounts i think) and it's a really good TV as well. Anyways I bought and I hope i'll be happy.
Just checked Asda website, they are selling the smaller 32" model for £575, (40" not available) so I think imi44 got a bit of a bargain alright!
Avoid the 600 series. Poor reviews. It may have LED backlight, but that is worth nothing when the rest of the set is poor.

Because it is not a very good television. With all the good deals around at the moment, this really doesn't represent good value. This is a relatively old set. Sharp churned these out to jump on the 'LED' hype bandwagon, but they were inferior to many CCFL sets at the time. The original post mentions "judder and tinny sound". This would need to be under £400 to be a bargain. This might be the only LED set under £500 but that doesn't make it a bargain. Don't be taken in by the LED hype, to be worthwhile it needs to be done well.
How does this work then, I post this at £499 and got over 200 deg of heat, the OP posts at a cheaper price and gets minus 83.........
Thanks Towner for your post. And I followed your original link to get this deal so a huge personal thanks. This is a really good deal and i'm glad i went for it. I thought the purpose of HUKD was to report where you could get items at the cheapest price and then inform others of that info - which is what i did. It's up to others what they think, but i did think it was strange myself. But i'm not really bothered, just disappointing my first post has not done as well as i would have liked. This TV will be great for my needs and was around the budget that I had set for myself.
Well it isn't a bad tv for the price, but as mentioned just because it has the holier than holy words "LED" in the title doesn't mean it is instantly great or even better than a mid-range LCD.

This set suffers from poor audio and motion blur - so if you plan to use it to view lots of sports or game I would go for a decent LCD or even better Plasma.;) If you want to have you friends round and say look at my new LED TV ... then go for this.:p
Hi TPBowler1, for the price I have not seen an LED backlight (branded) for this sort of money. As crofter says the reviews may not be the best, but if you want the best you pay more. And yes, I thought the idea of HUKD was to post products at the cheapest prices....... Sorry they did not like your first deal, don't let that put you off posting though. Hope your happy with the TV, I know I would be.
Well folks, TV arrived today and i have to say that it is absolutely fantastic! Ultra sharp, ultra bright, had to play a bit with the settings but picture is superb. Watched some action stuff and no judder that was reported to be a slight problem on some sets. Sound isn't too bad, but i do prefer it through my cinema surround system.

Freeview is great, DVDs upscaled are brill, and blurays are way better than i expected. I feel that i have got an absolutely brilliant deal at the cheapest price anywhere around. If you're reading this thread and are interested £485 delivered for this TV is a cracking price and i cant recommend it highly enough.

PS - Argos were brilliant, sent me a text with a narrower delivery slot, gave me the extra discount as mentioned in OP and if there's any problem you can take it back to your nearest store.
