So this 'deal' is only accessible if you or your employer have over 250 staff?

I'll check my attic...:p

Hope to be proven wrong by OP as I could do with a new telly in the bedroom

I joined without an affinity code and you get the same offers. On the joining screen it asks you to leave blank if you don;t have a code so i left it blank and so far in the past i have purchased 2 TV's from them with no issues. This offer came via an email.
Good luck

I joined without an Affinity code but the TV comes up at full price without the Blu-Ray offer

does anyone know the affinity code????

If you stick "affinity sharp" into google you'll see a link for bt.

In there it says you can register using affinity code "bt"

I've been PM'd by new member "woodhaus_82" who has successfully ordered using this method.

I've quickly checked the TOS and there's nothing that says you cant sign up as it allows 'friends and relatives' of BT employees to use the service too. Although I'm sure someone will beg to differ

Hope this helps - and welcome to HUKD woodhaus_82

cant find any reviews anybody help?

think this tv is 50hz when industry standard right now is 100hz. I am no expert though so dont shoot me!!!
#17
Just to say the deal is good, but not that great.

Comet are doing the TV + the BluRay free for £750.

So theres a £50 difference - not £100's.

Still a good deal though.
#18
when you say 10% cash back do you mean quidco , so that means you can get it for 539

But you don't get a 5 year warranty from them.

With Sharp you get it free.

I've got the 37" model through my employers affinity scheme before the price went down to £449 and personally think its great. It was a toss up between the 37" PX80 at the time which was around £100 more but I went for this instead and don't have any regrets.

good post, i might pop into comets to see the set working before i buy. i would go for LC52X20E 52 inch HD Ready 1080P Slimline LCD TV (black/silver) or
LC46D65E 46 inch HD Ready 1080P LCD TV
heat added
#21
At 16:9 native:

42" = 754square inches viewable area

46" = 906square inches viewable area (20.1% more)

Which is on par with the £500 42s and £360 37s.

after a couple of days comparing others i have taken the plunge tonight
gone for the 46 inch with bluray player after top cash back 10% should work out to £630 with a 5 year cover included.
couldnt find any reviews for the 46 inch model but did find a couple of small positve user reviews on the 32 and 37 inch models
thats to the original poster and heat added from me

Yeah this looks like it could be the deal for me.

I've never used anything like 'top cash' before (have had a quick look at the site) how do u do this and the Affinity scheame at the same time?

Any body think there will be better?

At £540 in del and a 5 year cover all from the maker and not some back street store this looks a real good deal.

Any body know if there is any reason I cannot connect computers to the HDMI ports and vgs ports at the native resolution 1920*1080? 1:1 pixel mapping?

Thanx

Was going to go for this one but now Out of Stock.

Anyone suggest an alternative 42" in similar budget?

Firstly decided to get the Panny but my wife didn't like the reflectiveness of it when viewed. Then decided to go for the LG427000 - but this has gone out of stock as well!

Then came looking at this sharp - guess what! Out of bloody stock!

i see a 50"inch samsung has been posted http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/306811/samsung-50-ps50a457-hd-ready-digita/
good luck with your search

Cheers - but going to have to stay away from the Plasmas - to much reflection for my wife. Am now looking at the Samsung LE46A556 from Dixons for £702. Again a 46" set with 1080.

Decisions, decisions.....

Hey guys, thanks to the OP on this one.
I ordered using the BT code (i do know someone who works at BT)
I've got an email from someone at Sharp though asking for employee numbers etc. It was to a list of people so I think this may have gone out to quite a few HUK'ers
I'm not very hopeful of actually recieving one of these now, Sharp have taken my money though.

Has anyone actually had one of these delivered for £599?
p.s. Topcashback didnt track for me either....

Here's hoping I get a phone-call to arrange delivery soon!

Please note our BT promotions are exclusive to BT employees and for this reason, SHARP will verify all BT purchases by cross referencing orders with employee records.

If you are not a BT employee please do not try to use the access code.;-)
#37
Ordered on 30th, showing as dispatched although I haven't had the phone call yet. No top cah back tracking so will submit an enquiry tomorrow.

my reponse :x

Thank you for the fantastic customer service I have received from yourself and your company!

Its nice to see you look after your customers making sure that they get the best deals in this time of economic crisis?

It’s also great to see you have signed up to hot deals.co.uk may you find many bargains

Yes I did sign up for a program I was not entitled to (see note at the bottom) but the way you have handled it is poor to say the least.

my order was placed on the 28th December it took you till the 2nd of Jan. to contact me after I had been phoning your customer service team all that day without a response.

I rang you back the same day and you were in a meeting till 5pm left my details no call back until a message on my answer phone today which I again responded to just before 5.30 when I got home from work(a number which I had already left you on Friday afternoon)

Now checking my email I found you have canceled my order without even speaking to me first.

so much for "If you are not a BT employee, please can you contact me to arrange a solution?"

I work as a manager in a retail store and would never treat my customers in such a way.

Are you really doing that well that you just turn down a £700 sale?

Not exactly a massive saving is it? On the price I can buy it at comet for. £750

Please take a look at hotdeals.co.uk to see a copy of this email for all your potential customers to see

I see you do offer the affinity discount to NHS employees?

My wife is a nurse :-) (A real one as well) which is what I was going to tell you if you had spoken to me before canceling my order.

Should we order from you again?

I think not

Not so kind regards
#39
doesn't look like many people got this deal then

Steve i dont think we'll be hearing from you again, but a prompt refund is the least we can expect after all this (why take the money first then cancel the order?)
#40
The same with a friends order

he ordered the bu-ray player as well
very suprised they did this
they must immune to the financial crisis or just idiots

He's a Postie not sure if they have one going for posties
