Nice price for a right piece of kit

Get a glimpse of the future with the Sharp Aquos LC40LE600E 40" Full HD LED TV, a fantastic example of the new breed of LED-backlit flatscreen televisions! This cutting-edge HDTV offers outstanding picture quality at a price you can afford.

The star of the show is the 40-inch LCD panel with LED backlighting. This breathtaking display boasts a Full HD 1920 x 1080p resolution, with an incredible native contrast ratio of 4,000:1 and dynamic contrast of 2,000,000:1 - ensuring beautifully cinematic imagery.

The high contrast is complemented by the 176-degree viewing angle of the Sharp Aquos LC-40LE600E, which allows everyone in the room to enjoy the stunning image. The ultra-bright white LEDs in the backlight provide a luminance of 450 cd/m2, which is more than enough to punch through bright ambient lighting conditions during sunlight hours.

The Sharp Aquos LC40LE600E 40" Full HD LED TV is practical too, with a choice of 3 HDMI connectors, twin SCART sockets, composite, component, and even PC input (D-Sub) for using the TV as a giant computer monitor. It includes a built-in digital Freeview tuner to extend your entertainment possibilities yet further, and with a power consumption of just 72 watts in operation, it's up to 40% more efficient than traditional LCD TVs of this size.

Very good to see a proper maker like this being posted here rather than those Samsungs again and again!

For Samsung fan boys info, Samsung aren't inovators they are technology copiers who only now are just about spending money on R&D. But most of their advertising is false and have been told off by even the UK's ofcom.

This is a proper LCD backlit panel (a low end one) but its better than Samsungs side only LED that they advertise as LED screen (making the average chav believe the panel itself is made of OLEDs or something)

I think you will find that Samsung caught up and left Sharp in the dust a long time ago - read the review for these TV's and you will see why they are so cheap.:whistling:

Yes they cought up by coping sony and panasonic tech. Initially to sell it cheap, but now a days they seem to think that because they have copied their way to the top they are the best...

but this is still a good tv for the money.

Yes, every single manufacturer of LED tv's are complete liars! lol

Now this is an LED tv...

So if it doesn't look like the pic above it's not a true LED tv! :w00t:

samsung got bitchslapped for their advertising and had to change it to LED BACKLIT.

They must have ignored it then... If you go to any manufacturers website you'll see that the three choices of tv are LCD, LED or Plasma.

Some even have a fourth which is OLED, a snip if you have a spare £3000 for a 15" and live in a shoebox.

the OLED are the real LED ones - that's why it's bad that the manufacturers claim their led backlit ones are LED - it confuses the issue and makes it hard to market the genuine LED ones when they enter the market in the future.

Unless it is not only a silent 'O' but also invisible then OLED is not LED.

It only confuses people who think that a Plasma is some sort of ray gun.

Perhaps people should use there eyes and decide what tv has the best picture rather than worrying about which term is used.

As I said, unless you're expecting to see the tv in the pic above, then it is not a true LED tv!

an organic led is still a led....... just an organic one.
#13
I know, just as an LED backlit tv is still an LED tv! That's my point!

Nobody said this was an OLED tv in the first place.
#14
that's like saying a regular lcd tv is a flourescent tv - because it's backlight is flourescent tubes.
#15
That's right, you go into the shops and ask them for a flourescent tv

Basically you're saying that every tv manufacturer doesn't actually know what they are talking about when it comes to LED tv's. Ring them and tell them to change the names of OLED's and AMOLED's to LED too so people don't get confused.

Then while you're at it ring up Walkers and tell them there chicken crisps are a con because they're not made with real chickens!
