Yes often they will be the display model or last ones in the store so you just need to check with the store to see what the local stock is.

I got my 42" inch that way and it was a great buy.

I got one of these from the Romford store just before Christmas for £649.99 plus the 5 year guarantee for £64.99 on top. Brilliant TV and well worth £1000+ so for £600 a true bargain... mine was sealed and brand new so would check first if the clearance ones are not!
#4
They state its clearance but in THIS case it just means there clearing stock as they will not stock it anymore. Im so dissapointed my nearest store with stock is 25+ miles away :(
#5
25 miles - get a cab at that price!! Hire a van for an hour!! Walk !!

Great TV...................................if you can find one that's not riddled with banding all over the screen.

Good luck with the Sharp lottery.
#7
One thing I'm always wary of with display models is exactly how long they have been powered on, think about it say the shops open 10 hours a day 6 days a week thats quite a lot of hours the set has been on.

60*52=3120 hours for a year on display.....thats quite a few viewing hours....:?

These are Clearance models not ex display ! are they not ?
#9
It would only cost £59 for a 5 year warranty, so who cares.
#10
just to let folks if you are a member of the sharp affinity scheme then you can also get this tv with free delivery and 5 year guarentee for £599

Depends on your store. Could be display, might not be.

So what does banding look like m8 ???
#13
thanks for this post

however i would also like to know what this banding thing is?
could someone kindly explain what it is and how to spot it?

i take it this could affect this set?

cheers

I bought this for £650 few months ago...excellent TV. No banding at all.

Major plus point for me is that it looks absolutely stunning. Some of the best money I've ever spent.
#15
Whilst this is a good deal..... £600 will get you a much better plasma screen.

Just logged onto the link.. its £1299.. how do you reckon on £599?
#17
advise please?

not sure wether to take the plunge for this

is the 5 year warranty really useful as that pushes the price up to £660 and with taxi money thats nearly £700 (that made me think for that money i could get something better? however lcds are more expensive than although plasmas it seems)

also there seems to be a model released after this called LC46D65E which has everything this has + USB connection and seems to be CHEAPER on the sharp website which confuses me?! (play selling it new for £679.99)

please help im really confused

thanks

Good screen. Got the 52" one of these at work.
BUT
I'm saving up to buy a Pioneer 60 inch Kuro KRP600 Plasma... The daddy of all displays.
Before Pioneer stop making plasmas in March 2010.

Work = creative design agency NOT Currys!
