Avoid HALFCOST!!!! They are terrible
Sorry to poop on this one but here's my two cents....

This is a refurbished model and looks exactly like the one I have at home, I'm at work so can't see the model number and the page linked to has no model number on it either.

I bought mine about 12 months ago at Makro. The recorder works fine but now and again it does the freeview thing of locking up so that you have to unplug it at the mains then wait a few seconds before plugging it back in again to restart it. As I sometimes work away from home for a few days it is extremely frustrating to set it for my favourite programs and then come home to find the machine locked up after recording only one program. Sometimes it locks onto one Freeview channel and at other times it locks up to only give a black screen - either way you don't get anything recorder.

When it works it works fine. At times it has refused to tape two programs at the same time but this is only rarely.

I bought a Humax from Argos last summer when I saw it reduced on HUKD so use the Humax more than the Sharp.

And to finish off this essay... I bought my mother a hard drive recorder from ASDA for around £70 - £80 last year and it has the same remote and same menu interface as the Sharp. It locks up now and again and you have to unplug it at the mains then wait a few seconds before plugging.........

Hope this helps someone. :)
