First post, be gentle. Best price I have seen for a 19" television. Trusted Reviews gave this 9/10 in the Summer 2008. http://www.trustedreviews.com/tvs/review/2008/07/29/Sharp-Aquos-LC-19D1E-19in… Read More

For a compact 19" LCD with all the features, the Sharp LC19D1e more than measures up.

Using Sharp's Advanced Super View LCD screen, the LC19D1e boasts the quality of image you'd expect from the pioneering LCD TV company. Crisp detail, deep blacks and smooth motion can all be enjoyed on this 19" HD Ready TV.

Although small in size, Sharp hasn't compromised on features. An HDMI socket joins SCART, component, composite and S-video inputs to make the baby Sharp ideal as a compact home entertainment system.

The Sharp LC19D1e also comes equipped with a Freeview digital tuner - making it ideal as a replacement second/third room TV where the existing sets are analogue only. Such a generous specification may not come as a surprise, but what will is the efficiency of the LC19D1e. Using just 0.9 watts in standby and 42 watts of power when on, the LC19D1e is cheaper to run than most light bulbs! Add in Sharp's usual slick styling, and the LC19D1ebk is clearly one superior 19" LCD TV.

sounds like a bargain to me, retail price is around 220-250

I quite fancy this LG 19" at £150: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146567/show_product_reviews?offset=10&review_type=both&review_order_by=RUF

although the sound quality is said to be questionable.

That LG you speak of is an interesting hybrid, PC monitor as well as a screen. Think in the future more companies will make products like this. I wouldn't go for it purely because of the speakers.
