good price for the tv, but there wouldn't be any point getting a blu-ray player for a non-hd tv...

Why??

A BRDP at 720p would look virtually as good on this 32" TV as a BRDP at 1080p on a 40" TV?

Sharp LCD with thier highly rated ASV panel for £250 - hot deal!!

How do you guys rate Sharp Tv's? Are they as good as a Sony or Panasonic, as bad a Alba or Goodmans or somewhere in between like an LG or samsung?

I have a 26" Sharp LCAD5E I bought for a similar price a couple years ago and it has served me very well. Much better than my housemates 32" LG too, it's held up much better, without a single fault so far. I'd rate sharp in the same category as samsung, with sony being a bit better and then panasonic. Also with the correct viewing distance for a 32" tv, as far as I am aware, 720p and 1080p are indistinguishable.

I'd say somewhere in between. Definitely not as good as Sony or Panasonic, but definetely not as bad as Alba or Goodmans!

Not sure how It would compare with LG or Samsung.

got that exact model as well. Built in Freeview is rubbish though and speakers aren't great but the picture is very good for LCD.

I think the 26" ad5e has an 'ASV' panel as well so better than the cheaper TN panel LCD TV's (Some cheaper Sony models use TN panels!)

I got one of these last weekend....

wasn't easy to get hold of.... i had to look on the website myself before going in....

and even when i went in they denied all knowladge of it....

HOT :)

FYI this model seems to be a silver TV rather than black (can't really tell from the photo). I phoned my local Richer Sounds (Bristol) and they only had one of the silver model.

mine was black... it has a gloss finish it looks a lot nicer compared to the silver version a family friend has.
