Personally, I don't know where I stand on the Vestel thing. They make *lots* of tvs and so are likely to have a disproportionate number of moaners - in the same way that I've noticed more people moan about Tesco on here than they moan about my local independent corner shop. If they were that carp, would these brands trust them enough to make tvs that will have their badge on and damage their brand? I'm not convinced.
All I can say is that I've got one, it's a superb tv and I can't fault it. Sure you can pay 10 times as much and get one that makes the tea and strokes your leg but I just want a tv with a decent picture and decent sound - with that in mind, I'd buy this in a flash.
So there! :p

Genuine Sharp TVs start at Series LE6, e.g. xxxxLE6xx ... xxxxLE7xx ... xxxxLE8xx. This is not a proper Sharp. Designed & made in Turkey by Vestel. The TV behind the Sharp badge is essentially the same as in the 'Supermarket' TVs made by Vestel.

I have repaired many Vestel products with hitachi/toshiba etc on them. They are cheap because ...they are cheap! Inferior builds and components compared to proper branded builds. It really is worth paying a little extra".

Not fussed by Smart TV or Freeview HD as its going to be connect to a FreeSat HD box.
Don't see why it wouldn't. I've got mine running off a standard V HD Box (not a V+) and it looks fab.
Heat added.
Picture is good straight on but the colours deteriorate off-axis making the picture look a little bit washed if you're not on the sofa. Sound is okay until you turn it up; the chasis 'hums' on certain frequencies. Otherwise, blacks are satisfying enough to watch poorly-lit scenes in Game of Thrones and it does everything a TV is supposed to.
Compared to my old mid-end 32" IPS Samsung (LE32C530) the picture isn't as vibrant/'deep' and it doesn't have the convenient 'auto-on' feature for connected devices but at £168 vs £300 you can't really complain.
