Damn, this is almost making me regret getting the Sony from Sainsburys last week... Bigger screen, thinner too, for £100 quid extra...

Almost...
#4
yeah cheers, i'm another £500 down. must. stay. off. this. site.

I work for NHS, how to get this affinity code?
#6
Price elsewhere seems to be 570 (Dixons) but obviously without 5yr warranty..

I have a 46 inch sharp for 600 (affinity) 15 months ago no problems and excellent so far, only used SD.
#7
am tempted by this one....mixed reviews ....goes on about the motion blur which i dont know if would bother me too much ...tried the just dont click the affinity and seems to work through to pay @ 499 ...wot do others think about this set?
#8
there are plenty of affinity access codes out there for us non-scheme members, if you look on google. don't know if the 'gateway' one mentioned in the voucher codes section, I've just seen, works though
#9
I've been thinking about getting the 52" 700 series led telly via the Affinity scheme, if only that was on offer too then I'd snap it up in a shot.

I saw they were selling this set on QVC last night for an unrepeatable "Super Bargain Price" of £748.92 + £19.95 P&P. They said the next time they sell it it would cost more.
Voted hot.

The motto is never buy from QVC even if it is a "Super Bargain Price"

http://www.avforums.com/reviews/Sharp-LC-46LE700-LCD-HDTV-Review.html

Summary:
Good colour accuracy, but atrociously bad greyscale - red is nearly switched off entirely except in bright areas. You can fix that with a colorimeter, but nearly no-one who buys it will have access to that.

Standard LCD flaws of motion blur and bad off-axis too.

This is the first generation of Sharp's new X-Gen panels, so it should get better in 2010 models.
#15
sharp make nice TV's (and panels for other people)
me personally...im waiting on the new philips tv's, granted by the time they come out toshiba cell etc will be all over but i just love pretty lights ;)

'gateway' not working for me

Bit the bullet and ordered one...was hanging out for a 42" lcd tv but this 40" led should do the trick...esp with 5 years warranty
#18
I dont have a Affinity account but have created a normal account and still its showing the price as 499 at the checkout/ is there any extra benefit over this price or warranty by ordering using an affinity account.
not being greedy but just wondering if there is as I have got quite a few friends that work for BT and NHS

I did see a promo on the paypal website that said you get £374 (exactly that figure for some odd reason) off LED TVs through this programme, the promo code was 'paypal700', however i can't recall if it was upto £374 or a flat £374 or even if it applies to this TV. It is worth a try though!

apologies, it's only off the Sharp LC32LU700E 32" LED TV.

I bought a 52" the other week, excellent TV, even at the £1225 price! - Note it's going for £1499 'on offer' at currys!

Very tempted but only 50Hz?

That explains the motion blur but at that price it will take some beating but the 100htz set is £749 good price for a decnt make led set.

Edit - Regarding code may be worth checking this out ....... http://www.sharp.co.uk/page/nhs&log=2&assignusgrref=affinity

The code mentioned is from NHSDiscounts so may not be valid if your not NHS - Having said that "March5" does sound pretty generic & not NHS specific?

dont forget 5% quidco or topcashback

I got this email this morning as well and i don't work for the NHS. The price looks great, far too tempting...

Bought the 100hz version (LC32LE700E) from Richer Sounds on Saturday for £550 with 5 year warranty. Great tv. Just looked at their website and looks like it's gone up £50 since.

I tried this and its showing full price of £1099. Doesnt work for me

You will need an Affinity access code in order to take advantage of this offer. If you are a genuine Affinity customer, you will know where to find this.

Orders placed without proper use of an access code will be canceled.

Kind Regards from Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd

Looks like you bought a 32" - this thread is for a 40"

Thanks gekkoa, maybe I'll pay more attention to reading what's on screen next time :-)
#37
Can't decide whether to get this or not - is the motion blur very noticable when watching the footie etc? All reviews seem to say it is distracting, but the price makes up for it (and they are reviewing against a price of £600-£800).
#38
aarrgghh!
out of stock!

Hey guys... Had an email from Sharp saying that they have run out of the 40" L600 and as a good gesture they will be sending me a superior model for same price... So they are now going to send me a 40" L700 for no additional cost to me...

I am impressed with their service, other companies would just say sorry and refund.

A+++ and thanks to Sharp on this.
