It is a lcd tv with led back lighting. Gives a brighter picture and more natural colours.

If you check reviews, this is probably the weakest 'LED' set produced. Any decent CFL will be better.

Couldn't actually find any decent reviews so was trying to show the difference using led's. Though I didn't make that very clear I know :-(

Sharp,like Toshiba seem to have lost their way over the last few Years.

All LED tvs are also LCD tvs.

(with the possible exception of some rear projection TVs)
