Great deal, at £449.99 less 5% voucher (REVIEW5). Don't forget 3% Quidco as well.

Remember, this is next gen LED backlit screen technology.

Generally good reviews with emphasis on superb picture, but lacking decent sound and limited connectivity.

Bought one and can recommend. Better picture than any LCD or plasma I've seen. Claims 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio!

It's LED backlit for far higher contrast ratio than LCD. Read the reviews.

Amazon £509.99 so excellent deal.

It is a normal LCD TV with LEDs as a backlight. It is still an LCD TV.

Correct, but from what I've heard they are a hell of a lot better. With all the TV deals around at the moment I did check yesterday for cheap LED TV deals and this is the best one, but personally Id pay an extra £50 (which is only about 15% more) and get a much better and more attractive set - the silver is so 3 years ago!!

MAybe you two should do some research and learn what you're talking about. It is a normal LCD TV with LEDs as a backlight. It is still an LCD TV.

Sasmsung is already in trouble for misleading adverts about this. It seems people actually fell for it.

i know what a led tv is thankyou . the difference is the lighting it has

Yes, we know that, but it's still a big advance on normal LCD Tv's, and it is backlit by LEDs. Like it or not, it's a superb price for this technology.

Sharp were also doing £100 cashback on their Sharp LED Tvs when i checked prior to xmas, not sure if that offer has expired now.

No it isn't. That's why samsung got in trouble, because this is an LED TV:

Ok, so it's a hybrid, but the fact is that it has a better picture than any 'LCD' TV due to the LED's.

Anyway, life's too short to argue over a TV....

Thought it was a deal that members might like.

Happy New Year everyone! :-)

This isn't an LED tv.

This is a LCD tv with LEDs at the back of it, to make it look all pretty.

Doh! Its quite funny reading all these ppl arguing about nothing!

Well, not quite nothing but everybody seems to be saying 'yeah I know what i'm talking about'.

Andysmoore is correct: ITs NOT an LED TV, its an LED LCD TV - so yes, the quality will be better than an 'ordinary' LCD (one that uses a fluorescent tube(s) for the backlight) but not as good as an LED (OLED - Organic LED) TV which uses slightly different technology to LCD (Liquid Crystal Display).

Heat added.

Now can ppl talk about the deal instead of symantix (sic!) - I know its semantics!

Yes really funny watching all the threads about these Sharp LED backlit LCD TVs :)

I got the 100hz version of this just before Christmas and it is an excellent TV. after some fine tuning of the settings picture quality from a good 1080p source is superb - well worth the money.

Oh and BTW the £100 cashback deals is over now - ended 24/12

Not sure why this is cold - this is a similar price to the after cashback price before Christmas - I paid £488 after discounts for my LC32LE700E

You should change the title to LCD (with led backlighting).

I got this set through Sharp's affinity programme just before Christmas, i'm really pleased with it.
I paid £465 with free delivery and 5yr warranty. I think they still have it for that price, I only ordered mine on the evening of 22nd Dec and it arrived on the 24th, I was well happy.

John Lewis was doing it for £599 with 5yr warranty and £100 cashback but I think the cashback deal has ended.

The TV is full LED backlit not edge lit like the slim Samsungs, the picture quality is really good and there is no noticeable input lag if your a gamer like me!
