So does this tv allow USB video playback of things like AVI & MP4 files ?!
i still think my viera plasma is lot better than this poop..
The code worked for myself as well, went ahead with the purchase so will let you guys know how it goes. I heard some good things from Avsforums

edit: I contacted Sharp customer service and the 5 year warranty does not apply to this set if bought directly from them. Pretty crap so decided to cancel my order

Edited By: omairshabir on Sep 17, 2014 19:59: Changes in purchase
I registered using an Affinity code and prices were reduced significantly ... a quick google brought up a couple more

HC One
gateway

if these don't work just google sharp Affinity code and look for some more!

Cold because even if I registered and logged in to Sharp the price remained the same. I've also tried the code FSSAA, too - not working for me at least!
FSSAA code definitely worked for me - here's a screen grab showing some of the Affinity prices. I am wondering if the website is rejecting generic email addresses such as hotmail.com, gmail.com etc. My personal email address is linked to my own domain name; just a thought.

Nothing is broadcast in 1080p and most sport in 720p, so you won't notice the difference. 1080p and 720p is pretty much the same on a 32" TV
Is it 720p or 1080p?
rourkey76
On a 32" tv I'd only worry if it had full HD if you plan on plugging a next gen console or pc into it

Why? Broadcast HD in the UK is 1080i. To gain the full benefit from broadcast HD then you would need a full HD screen. What about Blu-ray?

Great TV, just bought one 3 weeks ago. John Lewis priced match Sainsbury for £899.
Reviews comment on some inconsistencies in blackness but I really can't notice it at all. 40 inch will never be the same again.

Yeah I got the none 3D one & 47" will never be the same! On total black there is sum inconsistencies in blackness but I only see it as using as a comp mon so at boot mostly, in use not a prob and every large LCD I've has had this. Great TV/Mon but I do think u need to be an affinity member & I don't think JL will price match this because Sharp don't have a physical store.

Still a slightly better deal if you have affinity but useful to those that don't.
ashleyh

Main problem I see with this is no glasses, they are active glasses so they are more expensive to buy and Sharp ones will be harder to find than others.

If you have an affinity account 3D glasses are currently £49.00

Just to note an email came out a couple of weeks ago advising against the sharing of Affinity account details on discount forums etc. so it would be worth adding to the title that this offer is for Affinity account holders only.

Edited By: Stu on Dec 19, 2011 21:16
I can confirm it includes the glasses, I got the email earlier today today.

No promotional codes are required over the sale period. For Free pair of glasses with 3D TV, simply add both items to your basket and discount will be applied at the checkout.

They've been emailing every week so far.

Here is a link to the online version of the email (Not sure how long it will work for)-

Sharp are not up there with the best manufacturers, that would be Panasonic, Samsung, LG etc.

Main problem I see with this is no glasses, they are active glasses so they are more expensive to buy and Sharp ones will be harder to find than others.

Consider looking at the LG range of passive 3D TVs, Richer Sounds have some good deals on these and the glasses are £1 a pair as they are the same as you get in the Cinemas.

Just my thoughts....

Suggest you check who supplies the LCD panels for LG, Sony, Apple etc.

One pair glasses free, extra pairs £49 each

I certainly will never buy Sharp again. Have a 42" lcd of their's and it developed a dull grey line down the centre of the screen. They refused to accept it as a design fault even though there are pages of issues on the internet. No business from me. Haven't voted either way but can't recommend them as a manufacturer.

Mine had Exactly the same thing!! One to pursue against them. I thought it was just damaged in transit (bought it off my brother and stuck it in the back of my car) and didn't think to check the forums. "Luckily" my youngest decided to smack the screen with a wooden elephant and bust it and we had to buy a new TV which is now hanging on the wall out of reach!

I can't imagine Sharp would sell a poor quality TV

You are wrong. Here are 2 Sharp TVs with a 'Poor' verdict at http://www.avforums.com/reviews/index.php?parent=59&search_special=1 . In fact the only TVs with a 'Poor' verdict are by Sharp, apart from an ATEC.

mmmmmmm tempting
Ah I see what you mean now.

If you're wanting top notch picture and sound from a 40" screen then you have to expect to pay more than £324.

It is what it is - a budget 40" 1080p TV from a good brand with a 3 year warranty. Whilst it won't be top end I can't imagine Sharp would sell a poor quality TV, I really don't think there's much of a gamble here. Reevoo (I know, I know) doesn't seem to contain a single negative comment about picture quality, but plenty of positives.

I have an Affinty enable account, mwuahahahaaaa!

Basically, companies in the scheme have an Affinty code you have to use when registing, so you can't get it for that price without an enabled account (and giving the code out is against the rules).
