Kick Flipper is an excellent way to learn the balance, footwork, and coordination basics that are essential for skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfboarding. Can be used on carpet, grass, or sand. There are trick tips at the back of the packaging, showing:
Board Walk
Peanut Flip
Manual
180 Spin
Yo-llie Nose Grab
Nose Manual
360 Spin
Yo-Llie
There is a site http://www.kickflippers.com with info about the Kick Flipper itself and tips and tricks how to use it.

I got one for our 4 years old, whose skateboard is abandoned in the garden, because he wanted to do tricks before learning to skate properly. Seems like a good idea for the beginners, as well as a little somethiing to give your friends' kid instead of sweets :)

Posting not as much because of the price, but the idea itself seems different

Saw these in Argyle Street, Glasgow two days ago - wondered whether to get my seven year-old niece one, thought maybe she's a bit big for it :) Great idea though :)
