3 DVD Set

In writer-director Frank Darabont's THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for the murders of his wife and her lover in the late 1940s. However, only Andy knows that he didn't commit the crimes. Sent to Shawshank Prison to do hard time, Andy--a taciturn banker in the outside world--has to learn to get by in the brutal, cutthroat confines of prison life.

Is a great film - but it has been flogged to death now - was in my local poundland the other week.

voted warm as it is a 3 dvd special

Good story for thoose who have not seen it! It comes up on the tv, seen it a few times :)
#3
Considering its in 99p store and you can get the norm version for £3 this does seem quite expensive - so cold sorry
#4
Yes but this is 3 disks

To be honest, the version for 99p is more than likely the same version i have which is an adequate transfer, 2 channel sound and devoid of extras.

This version is 5.1 sound, a great transfer and a multi-tude of extras.

It 's an absolute bargain at £5.99 and anyone who can't see that needs to "check themselves before they wreck themselves"!

PS - voted HOT!

Definitely one of the best films ever! I've actually got it on DVD a couple of times, think this was the last one I picked up, as I'm the type to watch special features on films I really enjoy.

Think its still in the 'Must get around to watching this...' pile though!

Dont you think its funny that since the release of DVDs, collecting movies has become a sort of new national pastime? Even amongst people who ordinarily couldnt give a toss about movies and hasn't even heard of the Coen Brothers. Almost everyone I know has quite a few cellophane wrapped DVDs on their shelves, and lots of unwatched boxsets. Is it because there is nothing good on TV? Last night a friend and I were discussing how there isnt anything on TV like Bottom, Young Ones or Monthy Python, or wacky shows like Dont Forget Your Toothbrush. Its all boring drivel.

Sorry, I realise my slightly cynical rant has nothing to do with Andy Dufresne and his need to redeem himself from the evil clutches of Shawshank prison.

This is definately one of the best films ever made. Shame it was so under-apreciated when it first came out.

Ive already got the spedial edition dvd from play when it was 9.99 a while back. I would definately get it again on HD-DVD.

I'd be happy with a single disk version with the surround sound, as already posted the single disk version you can get is just stereo.
