Sorry to be pedantic, but there's only selected hotels at £99, title should really be amended to 'From £99'.

That aside though, this sort of coach trip is good fun, good value, but usually bargain basement accomodation. If you can put up with that they're good value.

apparently Shearings isnt bargain basement accomadation, as they own all the hotels and my mother has been to a few. OK they aint the ritz, but they are the same standard as say travel lodge, you can see the hotels on their page.

Great deal for those that can go at short notice. Sister goes on many coach hols as she has a disability and finds this type of holiday suits her. Shearing one of the most expensive coach companies so even more of a bargain. Great price for 4 nights accomodation and food.

Come to Eastbourne !

The Burlington Hotel is far from bargain basement. http://www.shearings.com/Was_hotels/hotels/BBUREB.aspx

Have you seen the type of hotels these coach holidays go to?

Not good.

Make your mind up - are they bargain basement or not!? :-D

£109 for a drinking holiday surrounded by octogenarians, stopping at every service station you pass for a nice cup of tea and a wee-wee? Then getting harrrassed in the evenings by groups of blue-rinsed port and lemon swilling widows.

Sounds ace - count me in :)

As I'm under the age of 80, this deal isn't for me, but thanks for posting.

My wife and I went on self-drive short breaks at Shearings three times a few years ago - she was mid-40s and I mid 50s. We shall go again when occasion arises. The accommodation and food are perfectly OK but not luxurious (say 3 star) and the package is always good value - even more so with coach travel included. Although, understandably, the breaks are popular with older and less able-bodied people, many of them are lively company. On each occasion, the pensioner couple who shared our table proved great fun to meet and chat to. If you only treat the hotel as a place to eat and sleep, it is likely to be well-positioned as a base for whatever local activity you like indulging in. The evening entertainment can be a bit naff but is easily avoided.

So you have to get to the hotel (by car/train) but when you get there there's coach trips every day .
Was thinking of scotland but was hoping the coach would pick me up in london and take me there as well.
#19
I thought the coach picked up from home too - I was going to tell my parents about it but won't now.
#20
doesn't the coach pick you up at nearest point to your postcode?

eg we are in East Mids and coach pick up point is Lichfield (5 miles) but 7.20 am ugh.

obviously depends on destinatiion and route

YES THERE ARE COACH PICK UPS. That is why they are so popular, for those who don't / can't drive

But can also do optional car drive routes.

Scotland.......brave enough?
Yeah it's a shitehole, everyone carrying knifes and the food! we all eat those mars bar things out the chippie that every comedian your side of the border insists upon....change the record, but please stay where you are, it's lovely down there I've heard.

My mum & her friends go on one of these Shearings trips every year. No' my idea of fun but her cronies and her seem to have a ball.

They are all well into their 70's, though. Wouldn't fancy Dornoch in January either..:-D

Cracking price for an all-inc short break, though.

Grabagrannytastic

Keep taking that medication because you sound like some paranoid delusionist.

It is the middle of freaking Winter and with snow storms in Winter and some of the Scottish destinations are visiting remoter locations. Thats what I mean by brave, visiting Scotland rather Torquay in the Winter.

Take that chip off your shoulder mate, you been listening to too much SNP lies.
