This is Indian Rosewood, which shouldn't be confused with the expensive, rare and protected Brazilian Rosewood (Wiki). It's a fantastic deal for a table and chairs don't get me wrong, but if people think they are getting genuine rosewood they will be disappointed. I speak from experience as we shipped a 'Rosewood' table and chairs back from Hong-Kong many years ago and then discovered some time later that the wood was actually 'padauk'. We were still really happy with it but a bit disappointed it wasn't what we thought of as genuine Rosewood.

Great price, just ordered.
I have seen similar locally for £200 for table and £50 each for chairs.(£500!)
I just need to buy similar furniture (book case etc) for rest of dining room now...

It's maybe a good thing that it's not the rare rosewood - at least this stuff can be made from sustainable sources unlike a lot of hardwoods. I was all set to get some wenge worktop a while back and did some research and apparently an awful lot of hardwood is not from sustainable sources and most from rare sources.

Some people eh? Fancy advertising this stuff as Rosewood, trying to make us all think it is the rare protected stuff and not just some **** Indian wood. If I want to destroy protected and rare trees, I should be allowed (but maybe not at £170).

We have a number of Indian pieces of wooden furniture and they are very good quality. Tempted by this as although we have a very nice stained pine dining table and chairs (paid £500 about 4 years ago) it is only a 4 chair set and only the other night when we had friends round for a meal we had to get the patio table in to put alongside it !!

we got a 5'x5' table with 8 chairs about 6 years ago and its still in fab condition, I would never get rid of it, but you do need a big room for it

Does it matter? It's a dining table, not a guitar!

cracking deal, i ended up buying a pine table from ikea and chairs from another shop. Turned out miles more expensive for similar quality and look and feel. Voted hot

Bought this table and chairs a couple of days ago from the Romford store. Had to make three visits in my car to get everything home but worth the hassle as looks great - it is an absolute steal at £169 !!

It is a beautiful set but does look uncomfortable though

I have similar table and chairs - solid pieces of furniture and look fantastic but would have to say that the chairs definitely need cushions and they move easier if you have a wooden floor rather than a carpet but apart from that great. This is a fab deal:-D.

Think ill be paying a visit to them tomorrow, thanks :)

£30 delivery is a bit steep but I may take this option as £8 is available via Quidco, would also be less hassle.

Ive just been to get one but theres no way it would fit in a mondeo, plus i couldnt park anywhere near the store so I wasnt going to lug this through a packed Newcastle city centre!
Ive decided its best to go through quidco and get the delivery for £22

Went to my local store yesterday but they don't stock it. Out of stock online now too. Oh well :whistling:

Anyone got a delivery date yet?

The Glasgow store got a delivery yesterday, called up and went in, paid for in store with delivery £20 to my location, due delivery on tuesday. They said it was the last one, had called in on Saturday last but they had none, but two sets on display. The website has note emailed me back to say it was in stock for internet orders yet.
