Forgot the T&C's:roll:

Things you should know about the Shell cash back offer

1. The Shell cash back offer is available on Shell fuel purchases made at participating Shell Service Stations in Great Britain from 19 November 2007 until 31 January 2008.

2. Unless otherwise stated, the instant cash back from participating Shell retailers will appear on your account as a credit to your Egg credit card at the same time as your transaction appears. The cash back will show as "INSTANT CASH BACK", which you can view in your online recent transactions and your statements. The Shell cash back offer is valid for Egg Card and Egg Money customers.

3. The Shell cash back offer applies to fuel purchases made at participating Shell Service Stations in Great Britain (for the purposes of this promotion Great Britain excludes Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). Shell fuel purchases made via pay-at-pump and Shell fuel purchases made at Shell Service Stations which are operated by Sainsbury's are included in the cash back offer.

4. The cash back amounts you receive will be calculated on the total amount of the Shell fuel purchase. If a transaction is refunded for whatever reason, the value of the instant cash back will subsequently be deducted accordingly.

5. You will not earn instant cash back on Shell fuel purchases charged to your Account during the promotional period if:
• you are over your Credit Limit; or
• if you are not up to date with your payments; or
• either you or Egg has given notice to end your Credit Card Agreement; or
• bankruptcy proceedings have been started against you or you have been declared bankrupt; or
• your Egg credit card is lost, stolen or misused by someone without your permission.

6. Egg reserves the right to withdraw, amend and add to the cash back offer at any time without notice.

7. If you have any queries regarding the Shell cash back offer please email us securely via our website. Log in to 'your accounts' and select the option to send a message. You'll need to select 'Banking' from the top right of that screen and follow the on-screen instructions.

this is 2p per litre saving. :)

I don't know why but I love egg and the little things they do, even the CS is excellent and you get through to a real person very quickly!

I've got an Egg Money card, so every little helps - voted HOT

I wonder if you still get the 1% cashback that you would normally get with the Egg Money card?:?

Yeah, better than nothing I guess :?

I remember when petrol cost 60 odd pence a litre...
#11
I remember when it cost 48.9p per litre back in 1995...

Here's hoping we still get the 1% Egg money cashback as well

Possibly or even probably, but if so it'll be 1% of the adjusted figure.

god I feel old I remember when it was 60p a gallon

If I was not getting 4% for the first 3 months of my Capital One card, this would be great. Looks like the offer will still be on when the Cap One offer expires. Voted warm.

I remember the problems with the pups when petrol went up to £1 per gallon. Really showing my age now.

The 5p saved on a £50.00 tank of fuel is not as good as going to a petrol station selling petrol just 0.01p cheaper...
#16
good for those who use V-Power
#17
A Shell card will give you 6% for a couple of months reducing to 3% forever.

Maybe so, but 2% of £50 is £1 so I don't quite see what you're getting at:thinking:
#19
When I started motoring, it was 75p a gallon. And that was 4 star which was more expensive! Mind you, I was on about £30 a week.
#20
it works, i filled up on monday and i saved 60p on my £30 purchase :)

got an email about this from egg this morning.

that brought my fuel down by 2p a litre :)

supposedly not allowed this sort of deal - but as usual there is inconsistancy with the deals. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though. Paying with Amex at the minute though as they are doing 5% cashback for the first 3 months.

My thoughts too  .... should we donate all our savings to pay for night classes for someone?
#23
Is this cashback SEPERATE from te normal 1% cashback - I have already done the £200 limit this year and wondered if this was on top of that?

PS - I buy petrol at Tesco PS, get Tesco pts worth approx 1% of spend, pay with Tesco Clubcard Plus card to get double pts, convert the pts to 4x value in deals - effectively 8% cashback forever!!!

Above would be next best alternative if can't find a Tesco's though

supposedly not allowed this sort of deal

That's why its posted as a 'tip' I have the same feelings toward 'club' deals ie cash and carry where you need a membership card to benefit, they should be posted as tips as well imho:thinking:
