I thought it was okay but didn't really feel like Sherlock Holmes to me. Not enough sleuthing and Jude Law was far too knowing as Watson. Well set up for a franchise now though.

Couldn't disagree more. I absoloutely loved the film and thought it was great. It is fascinating to see the old bits of london being built in a lot of the scenes.

Love Robert Downey Junior and Jude Law. Apparently Guy Ritchie tried to stay true to the books thus unlike any sherlock holmes that we have seen on tv.

Hot for me!!

Brilliant Film....Better than Avatar too

Loved the film. All great masterpieces need a kick up the jacksie now and again to stop them turning into hackneyed cliches of themselves. Now and again it teetered on the edge of blasphemy (against AC Doyle I mean) but it's a great romp with a real affection and respect for the original canon, I think.

Less of a travesty of the original than, for example, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

And a lot less derivative and up its own ar- sorry, jacksie, than Avatar.

I really enjoyed this film even though it looked crap at the cinema due to poor quality screen, projector and experience.

Can't wait to see it on Blu-Ray so I can see it 'properly'.

Thought it was a really fun and well made film. Liked the characters and think it'll make a kick ass trilogy. The visual effects were stunning - the scene at the end on the crane especially.

Yep, I really liked it as well, a lot more than I expected. Good post.
