Fantastic price for a wonderful boxset... Have been waiting for the price of this boxset to drop from the 35 GBP it has been for weeks...Would have been awesome if HMV had dropped the price 3 days back as it was my missus' Bday... but better late than never :-)

Thanks for this wonderful spot... heat added !!

from the amazon website:

"This is a big improvement over the 2005 DVD release of the series where the transfer seemed to be of no better quality than the VHS tapes. In this 2008 release the prints are much better and look more like a film. I have never seen the characters and scenery looking so sharp and clear. The sound is excellent and each episode comes with the option of English sub-titles for the hard of hearing. Also the series is beautifully and compactly packed. A great bargain!"

Personally I've ordered the newer one, it's 35 but still not bad. Probably drop in price tomorrow but I've ordered it now :s It also looks smaller, and I don't have that much shelf space left, as if that's a reason :o

That's what prompted my question.

However, combined with:
"As others have noted, the transfers are first class, the series having been completely remastered in 2005 for the BBC's transmission of the series. "
