Great no nonsense pedals that just get the job done really well for the money.

Noticed them in store in my local decathlon and checked online and they're also available there too.

Not bad. Cleats that come with these are about £10 on their own! Very reliable pedal.

are these symmetric, as in can i clip on on either side ?

Yes they are, I've had them on my commuter for a couple of years and are bang on for the price. Keep them lubed and clean and they'll last a long time.

no. clipping in is only from one side, but they are weighted so mechanism always stays facing upwards it's no issue.

I'll have to give them a try, i had the Time Xpresso 2 Pedals and had to throw them away last week after a 45 mile ride through london that involved a lot of clipping out and multiple failed attempts to clip back in.

Does it matter that they are mountain bike pedals though ? I have a road bike

You are getting mixed up with a different model of pedals. M520 pedals are double sided.

These pedals are definitely double sided
I have them on two road bikes - the cleats that attach to your SPD shoes are recessed so easier to walk
I find these sorts of pedals easier to ride with than road specific
I know a lot of road bikers that use these
There are now lots of road looking shoes that attach via SPD pedals

I can confirm these are dual sided

Description from wiggle

Value for money dual sided SPD pedal, a favorite XC mountain bike pedal. Super-compact and lightweight design for a multitude of cycling uses. Sealed cartridge bearing spindle keeps out water and mud for a smooth action, and makes for a durable pedal.

It is model A530 that are single sided
