Quite specialist but a great price as an upgrade and includes the slx/xt68/73mm bottom bracket that can easily cost £10-15, next cheapest is £89

Perfect upgrade from the deore model, note this is the older model and hasn't got the lower gearing per the later m672 that comes with a smaller 22t chainring (intended for bigger wheels 27.5/29er)

Details

3 chainrings 22t/32t/42t

Bolt circle diameter is 96mm middle and top / 64mm (smaller chainring)

175mm crank arms

10 speed crankset

The 175mm version weighs 820g (rings, arms and spindle) and the bottom bracket weighs a further 110g or so, bringing the total system weight to around 925-930g

Remember sgs long arm shimano can only handle 18t variation from top to bottom, so you can't swap out the lower ring for a 22t

All-mountain SLX HollowTech II chainset is tough and aggressive yet also lightweight and excellent value.
The HollowTech II Chainset features hollow forged crank arms which are both lightweight and rigid whilst being incredibly strong and durable.
HollowTech II integrated bottom bracket design uses a wide bearing placement with a large axle diameter for increased stiffness, efficiency and added durability.
Triple version comes with a drilled steel and carbon composite construction middle ring for excellent rigidity and durability.
SG-X chainring with patented spike pins give smooth and fast gear shifts under load
Se recommend that the bottom bracket is initially installed by a bike shop to ensure perfect facing and fit
Two tone anodized finish for long lasting good looks
Comes complete with bottom bracket for 68 and 73 mm frames
175mm Crank

The rear derailleur is down to £24.99 (short SG version and also the SGS version which is the long one for triple chainset)

Have a Truvativ 5D 3.0 currently on my Saracen Zen 1 (2008 model) would this be a worthy upgrade.

Cheers.

Definitely sounds like it, you.ll likely need the bottom bracket fitting professionally, unless you are competent, the chainrings are designed for 10speed so may need some adjustment to get the gears/derailleur running smooth

Cheers I have 10 speed but would get it fitted at the local bike shop as I don't have the correct tools and need to get my front derailleur refitted and set up.

96mm BCD, from reviews it seems people tend to run it with just the middle ring. if going 1x10/1x11 etc

I have the double of this. It's really light, super easy to fit, looks good and best of all it can take an absolute beating. It's one of the only things I left stock on my bike. I see no need to upgrade it.
