£29.99 everywhere else I look, they also have the collectors edition for around 10p less than the Amazon price. The total war series is well respected throughout the industry and this is set to be another home run instalment, well worth the price!

Played and loved Total War until they killed the golden goose by involving Steam on Empire. That's what came out of my ears as I've now got a twenty odd pound coaster. Look at the reviews on Amazon - averaging two and a bit stars - and many to do with Steam issues. Thanks for the heads up but if it's still activated through them I ain't buying.

Not a massive fan of steam myself, tend to run steam in offline mode so that it'll stop bugging me with ads and updates.

Why is your copy of empire now a coaster?

Also not sure why some people are voting this cold, if you can tell me where it's cheaper I'd like to know!

Once you activate it, you don't need the box anymore as the disc is pretty much useless because you just launch it through Steam and that doesn't require physical media.

coaster tends to mean that its broken rather than unneccesary.
i expect they have been unable to play the game rather than having a disc which is surplus to requirements.
if its just an unneeded disc then surely you could also say 'got a 20quid game which came with a free shiny coaster'

The Steam problem is that you cannot ever sell the game on after playing it :( Hence it's not worth as much as regular game when buying it new.
