o2 customer service is incredible. Tugo is prob the best app out there from any of the networks... but they not even giving a single quid off when I speak to retentions...

Not a single redemption deal available for o2 anywhere....

My 12 month sim has only just finished...and I hate paying full price each month now..
If you like O2 just get a GiffGaff sim and £20 a month gives you unlimited everything. Same as Asda mobile. Which piggy backs EE. Simples!

Unfortunately ASDA Mobile is 3G only. The only EE piggyback network that offers 4G is BT Mobile.
Do you think that quidco pay anything if I use code for £70 Mastercard?

I rang EE and took this deal over the phone. The £70 MasterCard was confirmed and I was told it may take up to 28 days to receive it. It's a good deal for a new customer considering its over 12 months. I'm with o2 and their coverage has went to crap over the last year.
For the equivalent of £16.16 a month, it's hot from me.

Pleased to hear yet more success stories despite the cold votes :) so looks like they are adding £30 upfront just now.... Still beats any deal I can find and no-one has yet quoted a better deal from any source.....
Ok, so got a call back today from EE, got a callback by using the above email address.
Was offered a free 6s 64g, with 2g data unltd calls/txt. 24 months at £29.49
My Mrs is in the same position as me, out of contract and notice given, so agreed for a callback at 18:00 when the Mrs is home from work to discuss both retentions.
Did they call ?
Yes, called back right on time, and both myself and my wife on a new 24 month contract,
Phones being delivered tomorrow via DPD, waived the delivery charge aswell.
Space grey for me, rose gold for the Mrs.

I can have iPhone 6s 64gbfor £30.99 with 10gb data. Or iphone 6s plus 64gb with 5gb data for £33.49.
Both with £30 upfront.
So more data for less monthly cost? Seems like an easy decision to make.

They don,t seem to add up the tethering I used over 150GB last month tethering.

I've read that elsewhere. All our mobiles are on 3, the only problem with 3 here is that the 3G internet is crap on our local mast - sub 1Mb most of the time, and as low as a few hundred kpbs at times. Not sure if it's due to congestion or what.

It would be great if 3 would get round to upgrading this mast to 4G...
I live on a holiday park so no broadband at all and looked into mobile broadband and esspee is right. Three are the best deal 200 mins AYCE data and 30GB tethering. They don,t seem to add up the tethering I used over 150GB last month tethering. I am in a small village 100 yards from the sea right on the bottom of England tethering I get 11mb on 3 and 22mb on EE and 11 is ok for me not the 50mb I was used to with virgin. So if people can better receptions on three it isn,t hard to work out the maths

Edited By: kev72 on May 18, 2016 15:42: Error
Serious question for those voting cold -

Are there any better/cheaper fast broadband options for those of us who can't get Virgin or Fibre?

I was seriously thinking about going for this, but the number of cold votes is making me wonder what I'm missing!
Great little device. Battery lasts about 8 hours and has a good wifi range. I use mine with a 3 pay as you go sim.

I used to use the PAYG 6monthweb for £20 a while back, originally it was limited to 500mb downloads and unlimted browsing, I think they upped it to 1gb downloads and unlimited browsing but video didn't count as browsing. Maybe they have changed it but I think it's still the case, its probably buried in the terms and conditions somewhere.

It has been posted before:

I took out a new T Mobile contract in February 2015, a few days before they dropped all new contracts in favour of EE.
There unlimited data a works great for me, speed it limited to 5-7mbps, for unlimited plans.
But still can watch YouTube in HD and no issues for browsing.
I also tether, when away from home in hotels, even though the T&Cs says you can't, works great for me!
I use about 12-15 GB of data a month and never had issues with them blocking or slowing me down.
Really pleased as at time got LG G4 and the plan with unlimited data for £26 a month.
No other plan could come close to it price wise, with a new phone at the time and that data.

yeah,but how can U get hold of a t-mob sim?Shops don't av em&eBay didnt wen checked
I've still got a stack of these from when they came with £5 credit from Poundland. Some will still connect to the network, but need to be topped up; some just don't work any more and some will still connect and have Internet (and can tether) every now and again. I stick 'em in a draw and every now and again I pull 'em out and try 'em and some will still have Internet for a day or so. They're good for watching videos for a night. I'm gonna try topping one up in the next few days and see if I can still use it for a month. You can still find these in my local Poundland, Ii bought one the other day to try it, but it was DOA.

That would be great if you could try this offer as I need data sim and 3g is fine.

Yeah I think EE are overpriced when you need a handset added into the deal. If you buy your phone outright though then I think they offer good deals. Especially retention ones.

Hi mate,

Doesnst sound like a good deal really. The phone assuming its 32gb is about £350 means the tarrif is aprrox £23 a month.

I got EE to match BTs 20Gb data for £19.99 over the phone on 12 month deal. Theres no phone in that but my point is they have the margin to reduce it on your deal.

extra being the missing word there (on top of the £12 commit for 12months) so it does seem to fit in with wot secretmsg & rosieryveswebb's experience is
went thru to the Loyalty dept via 150 & chatted for few mins to a very nice friendly seeming gent, it appears its not poss to add min/txts to any data only sharer sim & cross-netwrk mins add-on for is for pay monthly custs who run outa theirs he mentioned a 1Gb 1000m unltd txt 30day for 17.99 on the website but its not double speed & everything else is not reasonabl prices or data allowances. He recommended the £12 12month sharer sim & promised they turn it into a separate sim with its own data allowance if find customers ringing up that its not as suitabl as they thought for an £7
I managed to get 10gb from 2gb for fiver.. Depends on your account.
so..this change in contract thing..Am thinkin of adding sharer sim to my12month sim & thawt £8 for a 30day sim to JUST share data is quite good, but what if need mins, but this£15.99 sounds better than what I pay &18Gb mor that what was gonna share! Advice pls? Sounds like just need to ring 150 & ask but wonderin what mins cud get for £3 on top of £8? Don't wanna xtent my contract though or add further sim thats gonna end later than orig sim I already av hence 30day.Ta
It's not classed as an upgrade its just a change in contract. I changed mine to incorporate more data (10GB instead of 4GB) for an extra few quid. I'm 10 months from the end of my contract so not entitled to an upgrade and I triple checked with them it wouldn't extend my contract. I think the OPs just said upgrade when they mean switch, it used to be part of EE's marketing that at any point in your contract they'd switch you to the package best suited to your usage (at the same or a higher price).

Just passed an EE shop just now and they were offering 50gb of data for £27.99 a month.
id and life, subsidiary businesses probably going to grow.
£19.79 is for existing customers, otherwise:
£21.99, 4GB Unlimited Minutes, Unlimited Texts, Double speed 4G
I cancelled my EE last week and received the PAC code, as they would not give me a competitive price for Sim Only (against the Life offer of 2000 minutes, 5000 texts, 2GB for £9.45).
I was phoned again by EE this week, and, as I didn't need more than 2GB, they gave me the existing customers offer of £17.99 2GB, Unlimited Minutes, Unlimited Texts, Double speed 4G, for £7.99 month/12 months.
They are also giving me the same deal on my 2 BT sim only deals, when they run out in 2 weeks.

Brilliant post and thank you. Renewing myself and quoted your post to the retention people today, who offered the same deals to me and then some more.

I opted for a 12 months contract with unlimited calls/texts: £7.99, a bargain. In truth, the included 3GB (4G) is more than enough for those of us not fussed with social media... or is that just me?

Enjoy their customer service..!!!!!!
I have to use it a few times and they were very good, the UK call centres were fairly quick to respond and were helpful. I've certainly found them good and far superior to Three's (overseas) call centres.

The key is to expect utterly terrible call centre support for every company in the world, then when it's not terrible you're pleasantly surprised.

I got it!!!
I spoke to someone yesterday called 'Michael' - he was 110% sure there is no such thing as 25GB data for £19.99 per month.. I gave in and agreed with 20GB per month for £19.99 - At this time I requested my PAC code.

LUCKILY this morning I got a call from EE again asking if I was moving to another provider (she wasn't aware that I had already agreed to 20GB per month).. I told her that I was moving to BT etc and she offered me 25GB, ultd texts and mins for £19.99 a month with 0 hesitation.

So now I'm on 25GB data, unlimited texts and mins per month (mins and texts are international) also on Double speed 4G!

I was also told that this will NOT go back up in price - it will stick at £19.99 even after 12 months!
On a different note the wifes after s7 edge, EE have poor tariffs so she as well got her pac code.
An hour later gets a phone call but **** poor tariffs offered.
Unlim/Ulim 4gb £34.99 handset £60.00 or £33.49 with 5gb and £80.00 handset.
After she stopped laughing she said no chance

Phoned 150, got 8gb for 15.99, requested PAC. Got PAC, phoned again, 2gb for 17.99.
They said they are not a 'cheap, small network' laughing to offer even 6gb below 20. Bad attitude here xD

Phone up saying you want to cancel
Mention deals you've seen.
Mention your typical usage pattern.
Ask for PUK code (Don't listen to their claims of having to pay owed money first. This is not true until the PUK code is used, they don't all say this, but I've had 2 out of 5 reps claim this before I told them OFCOM's stance on it).
9/10 you'll get a phone call from retentions within 30 days, typically in a week. (sometimes they put you on to them before they finalise giving you the PUC code).
Haggle.
If all else fails and you don't want to leave, don't use the PUK code. It'll expire in 30 days.

EE have just given me 500 mins, 5000 texts, 4 gig 4g data for £9.99 :)
I am an existing customer on a 12 month sim only deal that has given me 1000 mins, unlimited texts and TWO gig 4g data for £16.99 for the last 12 months.
I phoned them yesterday to get the above deal as I had seen it on I.D Mobile but they wouldnt offer anything near it, But today, their "retentions" team phoned me and immediately offered it. Happy :)

Word of warning, the Amazon voucher is very hit and miss, still haven't got mine after a month, called customer services and they told me u need to take it up with the voucher provider!?! Long and short they claim the codes are nothing to do with them despite being used on their website
Yeah that sounds fairly typical.... usually you have to wait 3 months for the voucher to appear if I recall.
EE offer much better deals if you keep at it, haggling
I have 16gb data, unlimited minutes Unlimited text all for £12.50 a month

and the UK sucks at mobile tech too cos they're so much behind any country at it! I've been abroad loads and even in France it was miles better on EE than this country in some parts!
You must all live in country on here replying since in the big cities and most towns in the UK EE is the strongest signal going by far they have the most masts as well! Which means you connect to more! Also masts are placed by the same area as other networks but others are closer than others so that's the reason you see it's different in rural and country. built up is a different story but much better than that!

EE are by far the best as I've been on every network lol and no other out performs them. Three would come second or O2 though but Vodafone are reliable.
ditto, i totally agreed :)

That comment makes even less sense than this post! You've been on every network? Okay. Have you used every network extensively throughout the UK? Highly doubtful. If you'd included the area that you lived in it "might" make a little sense. Too many people come on here saying, "this network is great, that one is garbage" when it all depends where you are.
Lol I was reading that comment and thinking so u are saying ee are the best but then actually they are all good. So what's the order?? Lol
You don't seem to get it do you? There is no "order"! Different carriers have better coverage in different places. Vodafone is useless for me where I live, but I'm not going to say that they're useless on here as they might be the only company that is of use for people in certain areas.

I use vodafone via talk talk and have never had any coverage issues i used to use orange and before it was EE it was great then went downhill quite a bit! I use EE for my ipad free 100gb sim and 4g is excellent so might have improved since i left!

It all depends where you live how thick your walls are and what cheap chinese crap tinfoil mobile phone antenna you have. I've seen people who say no network on their droid phone and i've had nearly full bars on a good old Nokia and it was the same network and phones next to each other!

People always blame the mobile phone company but not all the problems are theirs sometimes its yours! And not difficult using all networks there is only four, EE, o2, voda and three
is there something similar to O2's lend me a quid on EE?

Looks like a great deal to me. I've just ordered one for my friend as a surprise present. Got it from EE via Quidco; so hope to get my £9 cash back too, making it an even better deal. Phone should be with my friend in 2 working days. Many thanks for listing this deal.

Quidco seemed to offer me a one-time £10 extra on top to start using them again, so that's good :)
My Quidco cashback has come up as £5, cos it seems to think I got a SIM only pack instead of an actual PAYG handset, so they owe me £4. I've never used Quidco before, anyone know if they're quite good at correcting mistakes & giving the amount they originally promised?

Fetched mine today. Came with a £10 topup card meaning the phone only cost £15 from Argos. Seems ok so far even for the price. Not sure what more a more expensive phone does except maybe go slightly faster but for emails etc it's great.

I got mine from the EE site, but they automatically put the £10 on the SIM, so there's no top-up card. It actually works out better to get it from Argos, wish I had done so!

it's only full speed for all the 500mb data from 11th May

Good news, we're improving your Euro Pass. From 11 May, you'll get 500MB of full-speed data for the same price as today (£4/day). It's automatic, so you don't need to do anything. And that's not all, from 30 April our standard EU roaming rates are also dropping. For terms and more info see http://discover.ee.co.uk/OMWwwjd3 (data charges may apply).

What I still find astonishing is how much the roaming charges are outside EU. £1.50/min is ridiculous and all it does is push people to using 2nd SIMs etc. Back in 2002 I was being charged around 50p/min in the US by T-Mobile so how it can now be 3 times the price is stupid. I'll be using a 3 sim when I go there later in the year so EE get nothing whereas if they had a reasonable tariff they would get some money from me.

Was trying to find a previous bill but alas having "upgraded" to EE can't access the old bills which would have shown a potential £42k bill to roam in the US dwindled down to £28.

It's a good deal in terms of the amount of data you get, but the amount you pay still adds up - you'll pay £21 for a weeks holiday. That's almost how much I pay monthly (with the phone)!
Sure but find me a roaming deal that offers 4G data AND allows tethering for less
Not arguing the deal, have already said its a good deal (and heated it) for the amount of data you get but the point still stands that its a pricey solution when all you want to do is use whatsapp, use maps, emails etc when on holiday, especially when many destinations have poor 4G reception outside the big cities (Berlin, great city, rubbish 4G for example).
If you need that much data at that speed then that's fine, but maybe you should consider a business tariff if you're going to use it for business?
Either way, its a moot point, it's only in place for one year then EE will finally be forced to let us use our allowances when abroad. Let's hope they don't come up with some bs caveats around it.

That's fine. I just find it ironic that I used to have on T-Mobile an unlimited, worldwide 30-day data bolt-on for just £15/mth and that now in 2016, with faster speeds and more users we have reduced tariffs but hiked up prices, even though in most European countries, UK mobile networks have subsidiaries.
