I've been...the food was good, but the facilities are a bit limited - ie the pool is tiny and the jacuzzi isn't great.

The rooms weren't upto much either, I'd only recommend using the place as a base to visit elsewhere. Don't go there just for a spa weekend, you'll be disappointed.

Don't forget that when reading online reviews, just consider the following....

If you have a rubbish holiday, the first things you'd want to do is tell the world how crap it was. Feeling so angry you may post onthe internet to pass the message.

When you have had a great holiday, you usually just tell people and don't post on the intertnet how great it was.

I have never been, but don't always go off online reviews as sometimes you will be missing out.

I went to a Haven site a few weeks back. After booking it I found some awful reviews and I was gutted thinking I had booked a nightmare holiday. Well, it was probably the best Haven holdiay we have had in 6 years, so reviews were wrong.

    Just a thought

ive stayed at this hotel 4 times in the past and now live 2 mins walk from it.
some of the trip adviser points are sort of valid (i also contribute to trip advisor) the thing is all the blurb makes it out to be some sort of country estate when its not, pool is very small as are the spa facilities.
the rooms are a bit of a mixed bunch, i have had rooms ranging from standard to the four poster bridal (imagine the looks when i booked the bridal for single occupancy) imho for this money you are getting what you paid for, its not a bad deal but don't expect a big country estate.
