yeah, they've got purple so they're second gen, but i don't think there's much difference between shuffle gens (just 2gb as opposed to 1gb). i prepare to be corrected by apple fans...

The Nano on there looks to be good value too!

FWIW all refurb iPods I've had from Apple have been indistinguishable from brand new apart from the packaging.

+1

I'm gonna get one one of these for my GF, I've already got a 80gb classic refurb from apple & the quality is excellent

3% quidco too - it all adds up :)

I've gone for the 2gb one.

I second this.

Got one ordered, good price.

Good deal.

I ordered a refurb Nano on Thursday, and it arrived Friday. Appears brand new, however it was missing part of the cradle which I've emailed Apple about!

I really don't see the point in the shuffle! Who would want an MP3 with no screen! They are cheap however.
#18
Thanks, just ordered a 2GB silver one for £25

They're light. I've got a 30GB classic, but its pretty chunky and I'd rather not go out some places with it, and might not have much jacket space.
This fits the bill at only £25 and can store as much music as I'll need.

Bought one of these first time round at Xmas, top drawer and paid more, as earlier poster said why have one of these, well I use mine for running, clip it to waistband of shorts and away you go. Nanos are good and well priced plus the refurb deals from apple are always good but you have to buy an arm strap or an extra item so its not bouncing about in your pocket which after a while gets on your nerves.

SUPER HOT!

Do you know if these come with the same headphones you get with the ipod touch?

Am thinking of getting one mainly to replace my worn headphones for my ipod touch, but might as well get a shuffle for free whilst I'm at it.

When I got my ipod touch the headphones were a slightly different design than my previous nano headphones, so I wanted to know if these will be the same?

Thanks,
Mike

They are the usual apple headphone that are about twenty quid from apple site so worth it really

You can get your headphones replaced for free from your ipod touch, if your touch is still in warranty (12 months). Just go to Apple Support on the site, and ask for repairs, then replace a part, then choose headphones.

If you do go with the shuffle, i would presume they are the newest headphones, as the 2G ipod shuffle was out the same time as the touch...

Ordered one for myself! Thanks OP!

Oredered a 1gb for the wife (as thats what she wanted) and a 2gb for me.

Sounds really like a good deal but how does this work with itunes? Can I upload here my old mp3s or do I need to convert them? I have some mp3s so if I cant play them on the ipod I cant be bothered to buy this device

?

Seriously?

1. Open iTunes
2. Click 'Add To Library'
3. Choose MP3s
4. Plug in iPod.
5. iTunes does the work.
6. Unplug and listen.
7. Profit.

iPod Shuffles can play MP3,AAC and iTunes Store (AAC protected) files of most if not all bit rates, just like any other iPod.
If you have unprotected WMA audio files (e.g. from Windows Media Player), iTunes can convert them to AAC.
As the iPod Shuffle only stores 1/2Gb, there's an Autofill option that fills the iPod based on your most listened songs etc.
Finally, as the Shuffle only stores a small number of songs, there's also another option to Convert all songs to 128Kbps AAC to fit more songs on the Shuffle (this conversion does lengthen the sync process, but does not alter your existing songs)

Cheers,

Just bought 2

Cheers lazygamer, I just read some reviews where people complained about being not able to play there mp3 as there was some problem with itunes and I just makes sense to buy an ipod if you buy the mp3s from the store or if you have a Macbook (should be some issue with WIN machines???) ! If this is not an issue, then I will go for one of it. Very good deal!

Thanks

apologies for the silly question (I've never used an iPod, as I've always listened to music via my sony ericsson phone), but how do you choose which song to listen to with a shuffle?? As far as I can see, there's no display - so how do you select a particular track? or is the idea that you just cycle through trax??
#31
You either listen to them in the order they are on the shuffle or you let the shuffle randomnly.....eh....shuffle them!

It has two modes...

1. Play tracks in order
2. Play randomly

It is mostly designed for random play, hence it being called the Shuffle (shuffle being random play in iTunes)

I found this really funny.

"how can you choose which song you listen to if there's no display" :-D

Just goes to show how adapted we have become to digital music and showing the track name etc... :w00t:

I have an Ipod nano so don't need one of these but heat added as this is a great price
#35
Someone please Unexpire - They're still on the site at these prices (items in the Refurb store just disappear once they sell out or Apple pulls the prices).
#36
Still available through the link :)
#37
Aye this needs un-expiring.

I've just ordered a silver 2 gb for £25. Got a 32gb touch but this'll be great for running and climbing!

Would add heat but can't, but thanks for the heads-up!
#38
How do you unexpire?
#39
Purple, Blue and Green still there for £19.

Have requested this be unexpired, looks like this will be the new regular price for the refurb shuffles, nice.
#40
Blue still up for grabs, so much for getting it unexpired eh? :whistling:
