Nice bed, will buy just the frame only as got a deal on a matress from tesco a few months ago

Got one of these beds (and the rest of the furniture to match) and would NEVER buy from Argos again, utter cr*p IMHO!

i have this bed and matrass.

no its not amazing but very good for the money. I would recommend getting a memory mattrass topper though (£30-40), as i found there was too much movement in the mattrass

yeah, never buy a bed from argos!

My experience with Argos/Homebase furniture has been very bad, specially the wood or wood effect items are very poor quality. Will never buy furniture from them ever again.

don't buy anything from argos, or you will live to regret it.

Is this really poor build quality as far as being sturdy goes, seems that many reviews say it is infact quite decent once put together.

There are complaints that it is a bit of a mare to put together but then what flat pack is.

I do sometimes wonder if some of the complaints are made unjustifed, more a case of user error, I've build a few similar beds that many gave reviews of creaking but I would put it down to not being put together properly, not everyone has got decent tools or any tools and as for using the like of the supplied allen keys, well it's a case of pi$$ing in the wind there.

I bought one from argos a couple of months ago, when they mispriced and offered me this instead.

Totally flat packed, it took me 4/5 hours to assemble (I was expecting max 2 hours), and it was an absolute nightmare assembling it, worse thing i've ever had to assemble.

Once assembled though, it's very sturdy and extremely heavy, about 70/80 kilos i think, very difficult to move on carpet, would be good if they had wheels on these.

Nice looking bed in the end though, but if I had known it was going to be that difficult to assemble and that heavy, I probably would have changed my mind.

lol

at the end of the day, if you want a decent bed you want to be spending double this, and dont be getting it from argos. especially if you are planning on having any adult size persons bouncing on it

If you want a cheap ass bed that is sleep-able and reasonably ****-friendly (mine is!), for temp accomodation, studenting or whatever and dont mind HASSLE putting it up, this is the ticket :)

We bought a similar bed from Debenhams in last house and it was peanuts really, put together properly (takes bit of time, but easy) it is very sturdy and would take some snapping, the slats are quite thick and robust.

Have just bought a bed for spare room in new house from additons which looks identical to the previous one apart from being a darker colour and appears as strong as other one but I did beef up two certain parts of it......however the slats seem to be very thin and it's that curved design, they have supplied substantial screws for connecting, overkill infact but would question the strength of the slats.

Anyone had these curved thin slats in any bed?

Voted hot as it is cheap but I decided to spend a bit more and went for this 'real wood' bed in the end: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6605148.htm

The reason I did not go for the 'Sicilia ' is because its 'wood effect' which is probably laminted chip boad which does not stand up to wear and tear compared to real wood from my experiences.
