Something doesn't quite add up.

'comparatively affordable long telephoto solution for enthusiastic sports, wildlife, and landscape photographers'

f5.6 at best for sports, you're going to have to use ISO3200 at least!

I have had this lens for about a year on a Canon mount, Tank like build quality and very good images overall. The IS works as advertised. Highly recommended at this price. The next one in line would be the 100-400mm Canon L lens which costs 1000+ (and is only upto 400mm)

Its not a problem per say but most people wouldn't call a slow lens a lens for sports.

i wouldn't call it sport lense myself, but for amature it's more than enough. for wildlife it should be perfect i guess (well, for the price you pay)
