Just found this one on Clifton Cameras. I was thinking about getting this little beauty and stumbled across their price which is lower than anywhere I have seen by a mile !!

This is superb advanced camera and for £229 I reckon it's a steal.

looks good to me ;-)

I believe this camera is over-rated. Limited focal length, noisy, slow. There are better APS size cameras on the market today for little more money.

'Little more'? The next cheapest APS sensor camera is around £350, as far as I can tell, making this hot in my book, despite its imperfections. At this price the only real competition is compacts, which this will wipe the floor with!

Buit you get interchangable lenses for less than £300 (Olympus EP-1). Because the Sigma is so limited, you would need a second cameras if you want to take non-landscape photos (portraits for example). That's much more expensive.

Good point. I didn't realise before that this is a fixed lens camera, making something like the Olympus or Panasonic alternatives a much better better, even if they are quite a bit more. You certainly know your cameras! added to your rep.

This Sigma is a great camera for those who want to invest the time in post processing.
The sensor produces IQ for ISO 400 and under that has characteristics no other beyer APS-C camera has at the moment.
The lens is also excellent.

It is an act of love, if this doesn't appeal to you then this camera is not for you.

In conclusion, a very niche product that is a bargain if you know you want the niche.
Really not for folk who just want a "good quality" compact.
