£1.00 Laptop stand and I don't think we need to describe anything. Serves the purpose.

I was looking for something like this! ended up buying a laptop fan platform thing in the end (and it wasn't £1!)

i doubt signalex would pay for damages when the laptop stand collapses cos by the looks of it, it is very flimsy. I wouldnt put anything bigger than 14" on it.

Been using one of these on the wifes laptop for the last couple of months. It really helps keep the laptop cool. It's a heavy 17" laptop.

The stand is quite flimsy, but once under the laptop it does the job great. Would recomment for £1.

haha you think this will make people use laptops on a table work surface ? even at a quid laptops will still be cooking on beds and sofas around the country.

Why so condescending? Must be the perfect opportunity to rip people off. :x WINK

I've got a couple of these and they are good when you are working at a table as they hold the laptop at an angle so that the keyboard is more comfortable to use - definitely a worthwhile investment!!

I also repair laptops and for £1 you can't knock it!
Most modern laptops have the airflow fans on the sides so cooling is improved. The problems occur when the vents are under the laptop. Bedding and soft sofa's don't help. If heat builds up the laptop should shutdown automatically before any damage is done.
Always check the the fans for build up of fluff which will restrict the airflow (mainly if used on your lap, bed, fabric sofa's etc.
Heat given!

Good point, the laptop would plummet for ten to twelve millimetres! SMASH!

Nice. My one only cost me £120- Bakker Elkhuizen.

hope they have some when I go tomorrow

These are great, I have a pretty heavy 17" laptop and been using this since september, and even when hammering the keyboard for gaming there isn't the slightest wobble! and it keeps the underside extremely cool! in my opinion its a lot more effective than the ones with additional fans underneath. And for £1, you can keep one at home, at work, in a bag... :D

This would be great if you can find them. I've been to a couple of Poundland shops (Stratford & Solihull) & no joy...

Me too, but in my case it was a £1.
Poundland now has a Signalex USB notebook cooler. It's puny, designed for the 10"-12" netbooks, but I'm using my 14" laptop on it.
Got mine at Merry Hill, West Midlands.
