This deal must have come up 100 times.

hot price - if it works

just make sure connectors and moudling are correctly formed and terminated - i bought a usb cable that was DOA - poundland returned it no problem but a bit of a hassle, where was the QC?
#8
Cold, it doesn't make me dinner nor play my films in 4d.

HDMI cables are for digital transfer.no difference in (sound/image) quality between £1 and £20.
#11
I assume it's HDMI 1.1, which carries only 720p
with delivery you can get HDMI 1.4 off ebay... Which carries 1080p & 3D & sound.

well i use em for the 360 and a media tank and both are setup to 1080p, sky's on 1080i isnt it?
im no expert on such stuff but they either work or they dont and these do so for a quid you really cant loose

HDMI has supported 1080p since its first incarnation in HDMI 1.0.

Milestones:
HDMI 1.1: Added DVD-Audio Support
HDMI 1.2: Added Super Audio CD Support
HDMI 1.3: Whole bunch of new colour profiles, extra bandwidth, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio
HDMI 1.4: 2K HD, Ethernet over HDMI, 3D, yet more profiles.

The last Poundland one I bought was happy supporting DTS-HD Master Audio, so I presume they're at least HDMI 1.3.

Well I am reading this flawlessly through 2 lengths of poundland cable at resolution no less than 1200p :p

Oh really.... good I'm off to buy that 50 quid monster cable then.

You do NOT always get what you pay for..... but sometimes you do get what you deserve.

used this before and they are crap, it's like donating a pound

What exactly was wrong with the one you bought?
#21
Voted cold because its not gold plated and that makes a big difference with HDMI leads, careful guys.

360 is 720p. You can get 1080p content from XBL Marketplace, but the quality is garbage.

But yeah, this is fine for everything. They may not be as durable, but for a quid its not exactly expensive to replace one :)

Even though this gets posted once every month (and a day or two), I voted it hot...mainly due to the 'cable snobs' who have not got a clue what they are talking about, HDMI is HDMI, makes no difference if it's gold plated or diamond encrusted, it works the exactly same way with no loss of quality if your cable costs a pound or 50 pound.

This is so true.

It just annoys people who have got screwed in the past who have spent a fortune on an expensive cable.:D

Not exactly true. The better quality of cable, the less interference you get.

Example - lots of leads going into a switcher.

Not normally a problem, but it has happened to me on £1 cables.

Anyway - voted STONE COLD as something costing a pound in poundland isn't exactly a bargain is it. It's par for the course

I'm not by any means saying go out and spend 50 quid on the titanium plated 20m monster cable, but there is a such thing as going too cheap on a HDMI cable. At least get one on ebay for 2 or 3 quid, or if you're really THAT tight for money, from memorycapital or the likes on amazon
#28
I will prob get slated but all im going to say is that yes HDMI is digital but it you hook for example your ps3 up with this then swap to a more expensive lead e.g. belkin you can notice slight differences the main thing i noticed was the sharpness around letters on the screen. If you dont believe just pop into any electrical store most will be more then happy to show you the differences on screen with no fancy gimicks.

not according to my console settings
current setting/1080P/Widescreen/HDMI i dont think the xbox tells me lies (_;)
and as for the quotes telling us to buy off ebay, c'mon get a grip, where do you think most of these £1 cables end up being sold. i know somebody who does it

I would buy one but they never have any at the poundland in bristol. Anyone from bristol know of a place to get a cheap as short as possible cable? I'm guessing the web is my only option.

I need one to put in the wall between 2 wall plates 0.5m would be bette.

Bought 2 six months ago at this price. Excellent buy, still working great with my blu ray player and xbox360 and at 1080p

These comments always make me laugh as in my experience even the micron thick gold plating on cheap cables prevents corrosion - I have chucked out plenty of cables with corroded connectors in the past (Scart, aerial etc.). I haven't yet bought a non-plated HDMI but then I've never paid more than a couple of quid either.

[Of course if I didn't store my spare junk in the garage I probably wouldn't need to worry about corrosion ;)]

Thanks for that, just off to buy 500, sell them at £2 each and make some holiday money LOL

Ah, the good'ol HDMI debate..... takes me back to the great speaker cable conundrum of the 90's.

Gold plating aside ..... Apparently, dipping one end of the HDMI cable in marmite and the other end in treacle before use greatly improves cable performance as the opposing effects of the sweet and savoury ions at either end increase the natural signal flow coefficient of the cable!
