Handy to use for a mobile, or even for the NES mini? These look new to Poundland and they had hundreds hung up. Analysis by Big Clive https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1_PYVTTYkU - kencol Read More

Stay well away from cheap chargers in general if you can. Watch various videos from Big Clive on Youtube if you're interested in the whys and wherefores.

Which one would you buy then?

I saw it today, it's a 1 amp charger.
I don't have any phones that would benefit from this however as a PSU for other projects .... seemed ok, such as arduino projects etc.
decent value for a PSU. also if it fails it would do damage to an arduino or something else cheap, so little harm in that case.
I would avoid plugging in anything remotely valuable to this and as daanuk correctly identified big Clive on YouTube has done loads of teardowns and quite frankly some stuff is horrificly unsafe.

Ikea ones are very good and very reasonable.

My comment was broadly about cheap chargers as people pick them up from markets and eBay which are patently unsafe. This one does look good though to be fair.

Heat from me, it is what it is.
It will power a project (I'm thinking a pi zero fauxmo / light switch or blind closer). Connect this to the permanent live in me lighting circuit and boom (haha) the Pi will be powered independently of the switched circuit and will be able to (with a relay) control the lighting circuit (so long as the light switch is turned on) via Alexa.
Just ordered a new Pi Zero W today, think I'll use that to make me blind closer.

Big Clive seems to approve of those too.

They had those as well, but the ones I meant were black and different styles.

I had posted this before as well. Still voting hot. But some people have a misconception that all Pound priced items are bad quality which I can see from the negative votes.
