worst case scenario a USB Port
#8
i got one of these a few weeks back....
about as much suck as an asthmatic mouse...
#9
How much suction can there be from a small device powered by USB?

I cant imagine its going to do very much.

even though its only a pound its also clutter! :-(
#10
Yup, I got one of these as well and it's pretty much useless.
#11
Imagine the possibilities of hooking this up to a laptop - I can do the whole house and the car!

You can't complain for a quid. It's a backup for my dyson at least!
#12
Cheaply made but they're ok for a quid.
We have a small toner vacuum at work that cost ££££'s and is no better.
Fine for hoovering up biscuit and crisp crumbs from the computer desk after the kids have commandeered the PC and webcam for a few hours. :p
#13
Can you get an attatchment for the stairs
#14
I got one a month ago. It is useless. So i returned it back. If you want a toy for your child, you can buy one.:whistling:

You retuned it? lol. I got one last week, it does what its supposed to do, great for keyboards at least. For a £1 you cant go wrong.

You couldnt of returned it if you had already opened the packaging, unless it was faulty (useless doesnt mean its faulty). Besides even if you did somehow get a refund you must be extremly cheap!

Useless means it's not fit for the purpose it was sold (or any other purpose!) and is exactly the same as being faulty.
#18
Cool. This could come in handy
#19
I was given one of these but it cost a fair bit more than this.

Verdict!!

A complete waste of energy and materials to make such a useless piece of garbage.

The suction is a joke, I could suck 10 times harder than these.

Ended up putting mine in the bin, they look ugly too and just end up taking up space.

Even at a £1 they're vastly overpriced for what amounts to little more than an unattractive desk ornament.

Isn't everything in Poundland a calculated gamble?
I've never seen the returns counter in a Poundland :p & I'd be too embarrassed to return anything :-D
#21
I got given one if these from £land and have to agree - it sucks! as in not very well at all. It even has a boost button where it makes a louder noise and still sucks nothing up
Absolutely pointless, easier to blow on the keyboard or just use your normal vacuum on low setting if it has one
#22
Poundland is a rip-off, 99p store is where its at.
#23
What is pound store's return policy anyways?

Doesnt exist

How on earth are people getting it to suck up biscuit crumbs?

It feels as though it blows rather than sucks it's that bad :p

Also: you can return stuff but you do it at the till and they have some long process of filling out your address and signing the form before they give you a pound back! :D

Friendly advice - Don't buy usb powered toys for your computer

If they go wrong or take excess current, you may need a new motherboard - (expensive)
#27
If the motherboard was properly designed it should handle a short without blowing up....did you buy a Poundland motherboard, perchance?

(Only joking :-D)
#28
I got one a few weeks back and it works great!! The knack is theres a black button the bottom that boosts the suction, you have to hold that down in order to get a decent suction, but if you do that then its more than powerful enough to keep your keyboard and desk crumb free.

LOL. :-D
Also OK if you have a USB extender with its own 5v auxiliary power supply :)

Some of the things in poundland aren't great, but this one works ok. picks up the dust off keyboard and around so I am quite happy with it.

I bought one today and it's not powerful, but does pick up the dust and tiny crumbs off the keyboard. Thanks for the tip about th e boost button :)
