All of these Silentnights are half price at Argos, this one is not special. Also, doesn't seem to be online elsewhere so hard to compare. 1000 pocket springs is low end. Not a special price at all.

My advice is you should spend as much as you can possibly afford on a matress given how much time you spend sleeping on it, how important a good night's sleep is and that you only buy a new one every 10 years or so. I doubt this will be "luxury" and ideally you want to try one out as how soft/firm the ideal tension is depends on your weight. A little guy could leave a great review and a big guy might find it totally unsuitable.

I would get this sort of deal for a guest bed but not buy it as a main matress purely because it seems good value.

Considering very top end mattresses can be >£10,000, you will only get so much for £300. I have just ordered one for £1100 having tried it in the shop. Even then it is a gamble until you get it home and sleep on it. Lots of bed shops will do 100 day exchange if you don't like it and need to change to a different one.

The i-Sleep collect and go has good reviews and is a Which best buy, available for £159.99 with the FURN20 discount.

Argos link

Which? verdict:

Very good mattress, great price 69%

TESTED 16 JUNE 2015
The i-Sleep Collect and Go Pocket Memory - exclusive to Argos - is a memory-foam mattress with a pocket-spring core. You might not expect much from a mattress that's this cheap, but we've found Best Buys at this price point in the past, so is this memory-foam mattress another bargain find? Read the rest of our expert review to find out whether this is the case.

PROS Good body support, doesn't sag, very breathable
CONS May show some signs of damage after it's been used for a while

A good memory-foam mattress that's great value at this price.

What is it?
A cheap memory-foam mattress with a pocket-spring core.

What's it like to lie on?
It does an especially good job supporting your body if you're small and light, but the support isn't as good if you're taller and heavier than average. The support it offers will be much the same after a few years as when you first bought it - though it does get slightly softer over time.
It's not as warm as most other mattresses, so it would be a good fit if you often feel too hot when sleeping.

Is there anything I should watch out for?
The mattress we tested showed some signs of damage after the durability test, with some cuts to both the foam layer and the spring pockets.
Is there anything else I should know?
You won't get sweaty as the material is very breathable, and it won't sag, even after years of use.

Should I buy it?
Yes - at this price it's very good value, even if it's not quite as durable as some other Best Buys. Make sure you try it out in the shop first though, to check that it feels comfortable for you.

True bought one last week( different style) on a gamble and was surprised how good it was for the money. And more important comfy.I think they are argos branded Silentnight's as I too could not find reviews, but seen similar on silent nights website with different name.Topcashback as well.

The price in the title is wrong. It is £256.94 delivered using the FURN20 code. This makes it a better deal.

Edit: I was about to buy one but during my buggy ordering process the delivery went from Friday to a week come Thursday to 34 days time. No thanks.

Ok now I'm just confused. I went through to checkout and the product was showing at £289.99 rather than £309.99 even though it shows the latter price on the product page. With discount code I got it for £240.94.

Delivery had gone back down to within 5 days. Still disappointed I couldn't choose Friday however, means I won't have it when I move into my flat on Monday.

Edit: Looks like the sale price did indeed drop to £289.99. For once I'm glad I had ordering problems as I would have paid £20 more. I don't buy into the less than half price marketing hype - £309.99 was about right for that mattress, but with the £20 they've knocked off and the 20% discount code making it £240.94 delivered that makes it a very good deal!
