"Great for parties!" apparently. I left it on the shelf tonight and bought the cheap Tesco Italian Merlot, which was actually not unpleasant to drink, though at £3.50 somewhat more expensive.

Love to hear the consumer reviews for this. I haven't drunk "British Wine" for years and I think my eyesight is now nearly back to normal ;-)

It's hardly 'British Wine'!.......... 'made from the finest IMPORTED grape juice.'

It's made in Leeds so it is "British" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wine_from_the_United_Kingdom#.27British_Wine.27

It's probably terrible, though I guess a step up from White Lightning.

This stuff only has an alcohol content of 8% as opposed to the usual 11-15% and it doesn't seem to be marketed alongside the lower alcohol wine which is a bit misleading to customers. Asda do a similar thing called three mills, and it's pretty poor (tried it by accident round mother in laws who thought it was a bargain) so not even tempted to try this one.

Don't usually do this sort of thing but just tried drinking the red - truly abominable wine! Avoid...
