Did a quick check online and psps seem to be around £120-130,

John Lewis Bluewater has the silver console on clearance for £99. Don't know if this is nationwide.

But maybe worth a look if you wanted just the console. Not been looking as prices of psps so apologies if Asda were selling for £98 or something last week.

Be warned, most 3000s have currently and for the foreseeable future, unhackable motherboards. You can still run CFW, but it isnt permanant, meaning once you turn off the PSP, its gone and you have to redo everything again next time you power it up. Easily solved by just leaving it in sleep tho. All that assumes the Firmware is <5.03.

The infamous flowchart..

Good price for these, but kinda wonder with PSPGO's now doing the rounds at £150.. Heated anywho!

Couple of questions

1) Can you play movies on these on memory card straight out of the box or do they need the CFW?

2) Is installing the CFW difficult.

Thanks in advance

buy a used 1000 from gamestation for about £60 then anything is possible, you also get a year guarantee.
Personally £60 are all there worth as the games are dire only good game on it is snes emulator with mario world.

Not entirely true, you won't find a better handheld version of GTA or Pro Evo. But in a way you're right, they are sadly dying out. Sold the missus' one in order to get her a DS and she's happier with that. Still got my PSP, uninstalled CFW and went out and got a few games like Gran Turismo and GTA: Chinatown wars. Play on it more now as I'm paying for the games, but there's still a real lack of decent stuff.

Paid £215 for the gigapack in Dec 2005 and waited nearly 5 years for Gran Turismo to come out, so won't be getting rid of mine anytime soon. But just glad I got shut of the other one while it was still worth a few quid.

Platform could really do with a killer title, like a handheld version of COD4 or something.

Isn't the Final fantasy 7:CC any good?

Never liked the Final Fantasy series but even so it's not the type of game that will keep you coming back for more and more once you've completed it, in the way that COD has a massive online following?

As a side note, how many times has FFVII been released/repackaged/added to now?

i have the 1000 which I bought in late 2005 and it still gets used once every 2 or so days, I installed 3.40OE and mostly play psx1 games on it stuff like Persona, Parasite Eve 2, Final fantasy 7, Resident Evil 3 and Dungeons and Dragons Tower of Doom with the CPS2 emulator. Emulators really make this one of the best hand helds ive ever owned its so great that early last year I bought a 2000 slim and lite just so I can hook it up and play the games on my 42 inch LCD TV ! I havent installed CFW on that tho just use that for the PSP games like Princess crown, God of war, Metal gear solid.

I might sell the Slim and lite though as I havent used it a while :( but I can honestly say I will never sell my 1000.

I also own a DS and the last thing I played on it was Castlevania Order of ecclesia.....after that its just been sitting in its box the more casual games dont appeal to me on the system which is sad really I dont really want to sell it yet because one day I might actually start to use it more but it is just sitting in its box and has been for over 6 months now.

I havent even installed CFW on my slim may do at some later date.

I have just visited the Store in the Bluewater Shopping Centre.

The PSP console that is the subject of this deal thread (with so much heat) is a "Customer Return". The one on display is the only one available at the price quoted.

to be fair it doesnt state on the sign.

i just posts what i sees :whistling:

To be fair you are not the one at fault, but you'll know for next time to check before listing deals of this nature.

If the item on show was not a Customer Return, I would have bought it, so I am grateful for you taking the effort in any respect.

Thank you.
