If you have a gas cooker you might find it much cheaper to cook with a pan on a low light than a slow cooker using expensive electricity, which can cost 4 - 5 times as much to cook as gas does.

Slow cookers are usually ~200 -300 watts, so it uses about 25p of electricity in 5 hours depending on your unit rate, so running costs are completely irrelevant.

So you would be happy to go out for the day and leave gas on at home???? oO .... I certainly wouldn't!!!!
Slow cookers are absolutely brilliant to leave on all day, and come home to a delicious nutritious meal, hardly use much electricity at all..... best thing I have ever bought!

These are great for students. Actually they are amazingly efficient - they'll convert 100% of the electricity used for cooking into heat which will warm the ambient temperature of your room.

Yes: 100% - I mean it.

So you study all day but leave a chook in the pot, come back home and not only do you have coq au vin waiting for you but the room is nice & toasty as well.

Every student should have one.
