with usb 2.0 support, this sounds great. why the cold votes?
#2
The cold votes could be the fact that a couple of weeks ago they had a different model for £20 which I think was them clearing out old stock\customer returns.

The link to the review in the OP is the £20 model not this one.

I'd be surprised as I don't think Lidl have stocked this model before.

Anyway more details on the model over here;

Wasn't sure what the OP model was when i posted,but they were deffo not the same as the model talked about on MSE,but it was very similar,with same specs and was priced the same.No problems taking first one back,they just said is it faulty then gave me a cash refund.The second one,they said it was now a warranty issue and i needed to contact the manufacturer.I simply put it in the car and drove 2 miles to the next nearest Lidl and they just gave me a refund,no questions.

I currently use the eltax which has usb 1.1 and the avi's i play from my usb stick are very jumpy even after the packed bitstream fix.

If this plays them ok I would be tempted but the eltax also has upscaling via hdmi which I like :roll:

if you can't be bothered to fight in lidl then check this post for a similar one (divx, hdmi, usb, memory card reader) at 29.32 posted from aria

I advise anyone not to buy this machine at all its useless! Every dvd i tried i got a bad disc error message,
I always try original dvds i know to work firstly it wouldn't play them it doesn't play any dvd-r or dvd-rw i chucked at it my sd card didn't work through the memroy card slot.
The only thing that did work was my sd card in a usb reader through the usb port even though it says anything over 512mb won't work through the usb, well my card is 2gb and that worked fine so i suppose the machine has 1 good thing going for it!.
What i didn't mention was that i've tried it on 3 different machines from 3 different lidl stores and everyone has the same goddamn problem which is a shame cos for the price and on paper its a good machine but in reality its a load of *****!.

Cheers
