I went through a phase of looking for dirt cheap bikes, and getting really annoyed at people saying 'just pay a bit more for something proper' etc...

but its true.

Wouldn't exactly say that was 'a bit more' seeing as it's more than twice the price! :?

Nah I just posted a deal so came back to add it... didnt really mean to connect the two!

You are right (obviously)... but it is a much better 'cheap' bike.

im a qualified bike technician from my old job whilst at uni and whilst silverfox are not in the same league as all the 1000-5000 bikes you get in pro shops they are the most well built and reliable of the bike that normal people can access.
Much better material, construction, reliability and customer service than Rhino, Sabre and Apollo which are all the same bikes just under license to different shops (toys r us and halfords) and the same company.
I actually bought this bike last week when it came back into stock and will say its a great deal!
Heat needs to be given!

Can you seriously get a qualification as a bike technician ??

There are advantages and disadvantages on all types of metal currently used for bike frames - steel, aluminium, carbon fibre, and titanium.

Steel is not the most popular metal at the moment, but there is nothing 'wrong' with it. It is thinner and has a longer life expectancy than aluminium, it can be repaired, and modern steel frames are lighter than older style heavy ones. :geek:

I had to do some stupid 3 day course as if you put a bike together and something breaks when you build it and your not trained properly in this day and ager the big companies insure themselves by making you liable! Its an f***ing joke if you ask me but ehoop retail got me through uni and my phd has them to thank

I wouldn't like to ride up an hill on it! I bet it weighs silly amounts...
For that price point they should stick to hardtails rather than full sussers. I wouldn't like to ride off-road with it.. So then you've just got roads and what's the point of a full susser on roads? Pointless bike. Well, other than to make money I suppose on unsuspecting customers..

This is just my opinion... don't hit me! :D

oh man, its a £99 bike for christ sake what do you expect for that money.....its also half price for a week

like i already said you can find better bikes but as someone has already posted 1 and its more than double

some people would be happy with the extra £120 in their pockets or 2 for the price of 1.....for the odd rides when it gets nice as we expecting nice weather this summer

personally i have an enduro but thats my choice

take it or leave it but it will be £200 again in a week

Well said. It's a cheap bike and not bad quality for the price.
