Jus ordered one,,,, Plenty of skirting to fit cheers

Rip the laser thing off when you get it, its just a gimmick. Good sound mitre saw, for ripping lengths of 2"x4" up you cant beat it. I wouldn't buy it to do Alcatrade or fine woodwork though.

Just a comment but has anyone had a delivery of Silverline tools from Amazon?

I have had 3 items and TWO of 'em smelt very strongly of smoke, leading me to think that they have bought up a job lot of fire/smoke damaged goods.

Also, unless Silverlines packaging is very poor, all of my items had been re-sealed.

One of the items was defiitely 'Shop Soiled' or a return. (Complained 2 Amazon and got a GOOD discount)

Anyone else have any experience?

I purchased a 45cc Chainsaw.

The box I received had been re-taped back up,

When I opened the box, the Chainsaw smelted badley of Oil & Petrol, the Chainsaw itself was all scratched & marked & no saw guard, & the inner box packaging was not the original.

Item was definately not new

My opinion either a return or refurbished model.

I called Amazon & have asked for a replacement, it should arrive around the 3rd week of January as they said they would have to order another direct from the Manufacturer.

Amazon gave me £2 gift voucher...... Not that impressed, if the replacement has any problems it's going straight back & I will not be wasting my time or money on Silverline Products again, shame there seems to be some bargain prices:-(

Your saw will get scratched & oily after you have used it. Same as my Saw bench was a bit scratched.

I complained but offered to keep the item if they made a good enough offer. they did. £25 refund PLUS £10 credit.

Without much arguing you will get a 15 - 20% reduction. (I just argued a bit more)

You sure you prefer to send it back?

Only problem is SILVERLINE (01935 382222) are importers and as such don't offer parts so the guard may not get sent on and that IS important!! CS not good either. (Not accustomed to dealing with public I suspect)

Thanks for the number, for the moment I'm dealing with Amazon

What I received was not new, so happy to send back, it's being collected on Friday.

If the next one arrives in the same condition I may argue for the discount if I think it's worth it.

The smell of Oil & Petrol was so bad I was concerned.

I know after using it for 5 minutes I'm sure it will end up with Scrathes & Dents but I think the principle is that Amazon sold it as New & this wasn't, so I'd like one new for me to mess up :):whistling::santa:

I bought a watch from them, it was supposed to be new, but wasn't.

But the saw looks like a good price, regardless of what company it's from.

Voted hot.

Not unless the two items I bought (Saw bench & Radial Tile cutter) were used to refurb a burnt out building.

They wreaked of smoke. :?

Had to get boxes out of house prompt.

Going by their quality I would doubt if this is as accurate as similar priced saws that come up on Screwfix from time to time.

Good enough as a site saw but not for accuracy would be my guess.
