It's supplied completely ready to fly and you can lean how to take-off, hover, descend, turn left and right with a fixed forward motion. There have been loads of these over the past couple of weeks, at £10-14. What makes this one any different, or is this now the regular price for these toys?
#9
i'm waiting for the tandem-z 'chinook'-type to be a reasonable price...

Can you still get all these sorts of mini-helis from dealextreme? Although you have to wait a week or so for them to arrive, they're usually much cheaper.

Does this last long?

I'd be interested to know if they can actually be flown reliably - I had a (copy) micro-helicopter from Home Bargains which was impossible to fly successfully. They did refund, but it kind of put me off getting another. Any PicooZ owners care to comment on these?

I am a model RC enthusaist of nearly ten years and have had four or five Picoo's now. My experience of them is that there is not a single RC elsewhere that will fly this good for anywhere near this price. Typically you either spend allot for a flying RC that is well built and flies or pay less for one that flies and isnt weel built or is well built and wont fly.

These take all kinds of punishment and i've only found reason to buy more than one because i had two inferior knock offs that broke-since ive bought a genuine Picoo ive had no reason to replace it. The new micro copters are much harder to fly IMHO, even for an experience micro-pilot such as myself. The Palm Z planes are fab too but you need a decent sized room for those and they are easier to master.

Will happily field any questions but gtg for now.

Thanks, Andy. Nice videos too. Am I right in thinking the £12 ones are all the same, just a different design? If not, which is the best one to get?

ame,

Essentially they are all the same. Being so small even a slight aerodynamic change makes a huge difference to the way that the copter flies. I bought my sister a smaller one (MX1 or something) and due to its smaller size and weight it accelerates allot faster and is generally allot harder to fly.

The only other Picoo that i've ever used is the original design (as shown below). This was designed with aero considerations in mind - the newer models seem to look more like real helis, and i would assume arent as stable, else the original Picoo would have looked like more like a real heli if you get my drift.
