 Good find
#2
Cheap, but not really a good deal as those items are pretty shoddy quality.
#3
Well worth a fiver!
#4
Bargain! Will have to have a look in my Tesco...
Although I already have one (paid much more than a fiver though!)

the quality of them is great. i've been unable to break mine - its been through a LOT!
#6
Ive had four copters, two of which broke after masses of use (so expected) and one which had an unlucky fluke crash second time out. I have been into RC for years and the price/performance/durability/fun ratio of these is better than any real model.
#7
i dunno why so many people moan about the quality of these.
We have 3 and my friend has one, only 1 has been damaged and thats a snapped tail fin bit, which now just dangles, but it still flies fine.
i even had to knock mine off the roof of our house, and it survived the drop undamamged.

@chezzz
Are these in the toys section in the Bracknell store? Have been thinking of getting one for my son and at this price it is a bargain.
#13
Just came back from Tesco in Colchester, they are showing up as 20 quid...
#14
Not much chance of getting one of these except in big cities and places with competition due to Tescos and many others regional pricing policy
#15
I got one of these for my birthday, my 6yr old boy wants one good price.
#16
Superb price if you can find them at that price. Bit gutted as I've just come from Tesco!!!

Yes, it is on the top shelf in the middle of the toy section . There were only few left. Actually there is no price tag there but if you scan it, it comes up as "X Helicopter" for £4.99
#18
Does anyone know what the cheapest price for an similar item is online?? Have always been thinking of getting one but always thought they would fall apart after the first day. Thanks
#19
BTW, Infrared, not Radio Controlled.
#20
Just raced over to Tesco in Aylesbury - had the helicopters in one store but priced £19.97 and no staff had any idea why other stores would be £5 :-(

Anyone want to post me one? ;-)

There you have it, looks like it's not priced correctly, my guess is the "x-helicopter" is some other toy, oh well....

Infrared works like your TV, has limited coverage and distance. Radio uses radio waves which usually have a wider coverage area.

The silverlit ones are the originals, they actually are decent quality. I can throw mine at the floor and nothing breaks. Really good price, well done! Just remember to pick up some decent AA batteries as well!

CHEZZ what was the colour of the one you bought? tried in our tesco tonight and it scanned at 19.97. Maybe it's one colour in particular?? I tried a silver one.

I have the green one but both were priced at £4.99 in this store.

:-DWe bought this at xmas in store at £15. Considering how much they crash they are quite versatile. They are definately not **** as someone posted! My son and husband played with it for ages and even I got hooked. The helicopter is basic so doesn't really go in the direction you always want it to, however for this money the fun is getting it in the air and hovering around. We love this for the money so voted hot if you can get it this cheap!
