It gets some excellent reviews.

A brand new design for the classic mini-RC helicopter from Silverlit. At just 17cm long and weighing in at just 10g, the Pico entered the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest RC helicopter and provides amazing flying fun, and this new version comes in a desert camouflage pattern with green rotor blades.

Made from tough expanded Polypropylene foam, the Pico Desert King features a LED strobe light and incorporates an auto stability system, so it's simple to fly either indoors and outside in calm conditions.

Advanced co-axial rotor design has counter rotating propellers that provide unprecedented flight stability. Supplied completely ready-to-fly with an innovative pre-installed two channel proportional infra red control system, the integral Lithium Polymer flight battery will provide flights of 10 minutes or more between charges, and can be recharged quickly right from the controller unit.

Super stable and easy to fly in the smallest of spaces, it can even take off from the palm of your hand! There's no better way to get airborne!

how good are these at flying?
will they actually go where you direct them to go?

Of the ten review on play most were 4 - 5 stars out of 5,
only one person gave it a poor review and from reading his review it seems he might have been sent a duff one.
These will make brilliant little stocking fillers, and you always have the play.com guarantee that should something go wrong they will quickly help you out.

the silverlit 3 channel helicopters are only about £10 from amazon, cant see why you'd go for this older model?

I have still got mine from last year and it is BATTERED but still flies! Lost the lower half split in the tail rotor and chip in the main rotor me and my cat have great times :)

These helis are controllable i.e. I can fly mine where I want and to my hand etc just don't expect to do this out the box and don't expect hover flight or anything fancy.

BUT 2 things, these eat batteries so those who complain they don't last long can find the reason their. A simple mod for power pack usage is highly recomended and not beyond the average joe just get your voltage & polarity correct :)

ALSO there was the 3 channel Atlas on at 9.99 and twin rotor tandez for £15 from Amazon somewhere here last week just got mine and Atlas same size as this but has 'forward' mode too. Got to wait till Christmas to try tho!

edit: vibeone got their first lol

Cheap but I.ve been looking around for a 3 channel one.

Ended up with the Hobby Storm 4 which is back in stock at Play after taking advice on the DealRequests forum.

Apparently well worth paying a bit extra for the 3 channels.
Good price on this though - disposable fun...

Only reason I don't like them is they are a bit too stable and don't look right when flying around but yeah definately more controllable!

I am seriously trying to decide whether my main chrimbo present is going to be the Walkera 4#3B - real four channel helo with cyclic & fixed pitch rotors (6 ch version out soon that will fly upside down!) and really no bigger than the picoZ! Absolutely stunning piece of kit and under a £100 or with the highly recommended computer simulator probably just over £100..
