It is an awful phone. So many faults, i take upto 5 in a week for repair. But it is the cheapest option to grab bbm.

Btw guys if you take any active o2,orange,tmob, virgin, vodafone sim card that has been in use for more than 6 months for an upgrade you will pay that price only, NO top up.

I'd also avoid this phone as a previous user..

I use one all the time and here's my £0.02 :-

Pros: Gives me Email on the move, has a Qwerty keyboard, like the optical mouse finger sensor (like a touchpad but you don't actually quite have to touch it)

Cons: Low res camera with NO flash! No 3G on this model only GPRS (or EDGE) so downloading a web page can be sloooooooow. Much faster at home when it auto pairs up with my wireless router (which is nice).

Basically it's the budget entry level blackberry, if the above cons don't bother you I think it's worth a punt. If mine wasn't company supplied I'd upgrade it as they do one with 3G and a better camera with flash.

I have to agree with this. For work reasons I've had most blackberries over the past few years. This one is better that the truly awful storm, but not as good as the bold.

the only pro is it gives u emil on the move? lol

my nokia 7110 did that at the back end of the 90s lol

blackberry service wont just be limited to blackberry devices before long.
if all you want is bbm id recommend you hold out a bit.

I initially hated the San Fran, it's grown on me now I've sorted the faults. The battery life on mine is pretty good now I use an app called Juice defender. The build quality is crap I agree, I also want to get rid of the phone as it doesn't play flash, sad reason possibly but unfortunately I need the crap that is flash, roll on ubiquitious html5.

a San Fran has pretty low build quality, well mine certainly feels like it's a £10 phone in that respect although I'd agree that otherwise it's a superb value phone.

These cheap 8520's might be ok for basic business phone use but I can't see much appeal for a non business user when there's decent Android and Nokia's out there for similar prices.
