Heat BTW but I'm going to wait for at least a 16GB model because of the app limitations.

Think that might be quite a wait - I'm sure Moto said they weren't doing a 16GB because they had now added the MicroSD slot.

It's almost the perfect budget phone, damned 4.4 security measures :(.

Got one from Amazon for just a tenner more. Good phone but there's an issue with recognising class 10 32gb cards and apparently its not a rare issue either.

Apologies, I thought this was the tesco locked phone.

dear god, i think i'm going to have to pluck my eyes out if we're going to have this posted every time they get stock back in!.

personally, i need something bigger than 4.5" screen (and it'd be good if it have a bifocal screen too).

I apologise to your eyes, I genuinely felt a £10 price decrease for the sim free was significant enough to post.

Whoops apparently not. I scanned the title too quickly and just assumed it was only £10 cheaper than the Amazon deal because it was locked.
Though no doubt the Amazon deal will still get heat.

The SD limitations aren't difficult to work around if you're willing to root the phone.

Aye I spotted this but I'd rather not root if possible. I think I'll wait a bit to see if any competitors release a similarly-priced phone with a bit more memory first.

This may sound somewhat leftfield, but how about noting that it's a Moto G on the homepage and then simply not clicking on the deal and posting utter bobbins?

Let's just say I'm a director of tesco - I'm not. But let's say I was sat in front of a board of directors and could sit there and confidently say how many "new customers" we have attracted in the last year, two years, three years. As a director, I'd be safe for another couple of months. If there's a loop hole, it's there to be exploited.

Be careful about which sd card you choose if you buy this. They don't work reliably with anything over class 4. I believe they are trying to sort it out but they are not giving any timescales. Other than that a very good value phone especially at this price.

I had the same problem , card worked for a few hours then stopped . no longer readable even in pc

Unless you already have an invite, it's currently ridiculously hard to get one of those. :(

Upgrade the storage to 16GB for only £2.75 http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-8gb-microsdhc-class-6-24mb-s-memory-card-2-75-delivered-mobymemory-16gb-1945134

Device can take up to 32GB microSD and recommended to use no faster than Class 6 but 16GB should be enough for most users. Samsung cards work fine in the Moto G. Users have reported issues with Sandisks on XDA-Developers.

Why is it so hard to get a decent camera on a small phone. This not worth getting then?

The camera is so so because it is a budget phone.

You won't get much on the phone with just 5gb of available storage.

...whcih probably won't work regardless. This phone has a lot of serious issues with micro sd cards plagueing it. Class 10 cards seem to cause problems but lower class carda seem to work fine for some people, other people can't get any card to work at all. My 32gb class 10 sandisk micro sd card doesn't work at all and I am doubtful that Motorola will fix it through a software update, seems to be more of a hardware issue and they've had weeks to sort it out despite lots of complaining on the forums.

out of stock

because the moto 4g doesn't support UHS 1 speeds(class 10). it can work but you won't get the performance even if it does. stick with class 6 and you should be fine. Check it out here on the bottom box on table.
https://forums.motorola.com/posts/7e59cc7baf

IMO avoid sandisk like the plague. have had about 4 fail. all 16 or 32gb class 10 over 2 years. their warranty policy makes you pay half the price of the card to send it back to Croatia. in my case I gave them a few emails and calls bemoaning their bs charges and they waived it after making me proof I destroyed the card they sent a replacement. took over a month.
